I teleported using the new RC, and after arriving, I noticed my designer jeans and lower half now have the user interface for its texture! In other words, where my belt should be, it now shows "File Edit View World...." and my jeans and feet have the texture on whatever was in view just before I teleported! I look like have been camouflaged with Linden trees!
So, I log off, log back in with regular viewer, it is still the same. I also login with my dear alt and she sees the same textures on me!
Then, I log off, clear cache, login and now my top is black and still have the problem with the lower half!
What should I do?
So THAT's what Rebake Textures is for!

From: Dytska Vieria So THAT's what Rebake Textures is for! I don't understand what you mean by this. Is Rebake working or not?

From: Isabeau Imako I don't understand what you mean by this. Is Rebake working or not? Yes, after rebaking the textures everything is normal again.

From: Isabeau Imako I don't understand what you mean by this. Is Rebake working or not? "Last edited by Dytska Vieria : Today at 09:21 PM. Reason: problem solved" Looks like rebake did it. Still, this is a particularly weird problem. How does that even happen? Sl has to take a screen shot of where he was last, then apply it to the avatar mesh somehow instead of clothing? Does it mess with the clothing textures themselves? Makes no sense.

This happened to me the other day. I thought it was quite amusing. I was working alone at the time and I never did get a chance to find out if other people would see what I was seeing. It was still there when I logged back in. I went into appearance edit and it instantly changed to the correct texture but when I closed the edit window it went back to the camera control window across my derrier. Finally I changed into a whole other outfit which was fine and when I went back to the outfit with the problem pants they were back to normal. The whole time it was like that the texture on my pants was a screen shot of the scene where I logged in when it first happened.

I've seen that before, about 6 months ago I had a friend TP in and the entire front of his shirt was the interface texture of an IM he had with someone, then his pants were normal but shoes had part of another interface texture. We worked on trying to fix it for awhile, tried rebaking and it didn't work either. Eventually he just changed clothes and I don't know if he's ever tried to put them back on again.

Oops! Didn't see the edited part... Atleast you could 'see' yourself. Last week, my foot disappeared. There was a shoe and a pant leg, but no right foot. Weirdest freaking thing ever. I even looked (cammed) up my butt just in case. I wasn't carrying a purse so no where else to look. I didn't think of rebake right away since the rest of me looked fine. Does that ever happen with other body parts? (Apart from Trout Jr.)

Only in SL do people say things like this and nobody even thinks twice about it.

This almost always happens to me when I first log in....my avatar somehow adopts the textures of what ever is closest to her so I simply re-bake and it's fixed. Another time it will happen is if I have been using camera views for a few minutes trying to look at different items in a shop maybe, or art work.....once I return to my normal avatar view, I find I have picked up one of the textures I was viewing. LOL No big deal, re-bake always fixes this. Somehow the texture information seems to get jumbled in translation as we jump to different view points. *shrug* An SL bug....whataya gonna do.

This happens to the skirt layer too. and others can see it. "Why do you have edit terrain tools on your skirt?" A friend asked me.
This is just a small part of the whole package of Unexpected Entertainment Features SL has to offer us.

Happens often to me, more often on other grids it seems. http://www.flickr.com/photos/atashiyue/2269465729/If you look, you can see that I've picked up the texture of the building behind me. I kind of liked that one. Even my eyes got it.
