Seems to me that running multiple accounts on one machine at the same time using Release Candidate 1.19.1 is much slower and less stable than on current and previous regular viewers.

Anyone else seeing that?

This is on Linux, so YMMV, but I started seeing a lot of stability problems with running multiple viewers with the preceding WindLight First Look. The problem was usually in getting them logged in: when adding a new client, there was a good chance that one already running would die--and this hadn't been the case before. It's not completely repeatable, though, and I haven't yet bothered to investigate further. (I haven't seen any change in performance impact, though--but: Linux, so not much help.)

In honesty I started sening a diffrence when I logged off with a "small" window ..

When logging in fullscreen .. I found no probs ... seems viewer did'nt like to log in "in windowed" mode.

as above YYMV ..

I can't say that I do this enough to provide good experience. Plus a couple months ago I upgraded video card and memory so the computer runs better overall. However, I can give some data.

OS: WinXP SP2
CPU: Dual Core 3.20GHz
Mem: 2GB

One client:

CPU: ~25%
PF Usage: ~500MB
Mem Avail: ~1.1GB

Two clients:

CPU: ~55%
PF Usage: ~1.2GB
Mem Avail: ~650MB

Three clients:

CPU: 100%
PF Usage: ~1.35GB
Mem Avail: ~500MB

Running two clients seemed fine, however, I was not in any kind of laggy area nor really doing anything other than moving around. Attempting to login third client was actually unsuccessful. It was very sluggish (lag simply trying to type in username/password). Then it hung on "Connecting to region...". During this time, the other two clients showed a little performance degredation but were definately usable. When I tried to close the third client, my computer crashed. Numbers above are approximate from what I can remember. Number for 3 clients are what they were when I tried to exit.

I understand. By "my output" I meant the frequency with which I output a post to RA. It has has dropped considerably over the last year.

Oh, Hugsy: data! Well, that gave me number-envy, so had to measure, too.

OS: Linux 2.6.22 (Gentoo)
CPU: Pentium D @ 2.66GHz
RAM: 2GB

#Clients...........FPS..............%idle CPU...........free RAM

.......1...............27...................48%...............1,227 MB

.......2...............20...................14%..................859 MB

.......3...............12....................6%...................425 MB

Actually, everything seemed pretty usable on all 3 clients, but then I have high tolerance for low frame rates.

You have me beat on FPS. With one client I tend to hover around 10 depending on how complex the scene is (I'm rather tolerant when it coms to FPS). But I know that's because I have my graphics settings set too high (maxed out). I sometimes have to back them down in certain areas.

A friend told me the same, Suezanne. Can't vouch for it because I'm still running on an older client, but he could run six on the same machine before, now he's struggling with keeping two alive.
