Buying Lindens

Yesterday I bought Lindens using the Second Life website. I used the shopping tab, and used Paypal. I got a reciept form Palypal straight away, but when I go to my marketplace, all it says is 'Pending Paypal Transaction Approval', and there is nothing there for me to spend.

Have I bought Lindens from the wrong place? There is so much free stuff I dont need to buy anything, I just want to rent an apartment. Help would be appreciated - TIA

Sounds to me like you used XStreet to buy your lindens. You will have to wait for the transaction to clear as it's your first time using that. Then you will be able to transfer the funds to your inworld account.

Thanks - and inworld I can use them to rent?

OK, so i have them now in the marketplace- how do I get them to appear inworld?

If you bought it at XStreet, rather through the Lindex, then you'll see a button that says WITHDRAW under the L$ amount. Withdraw them and they'll credit to your SL account.

I'm having trouble and already filed a ticket and received an answer, but still don't understand. I had $50.00USD on xstreet. I clicked on withdraw like I was told but still haven't received my lindens inworld. the USD has been sitting there for over a month so I don't understand why I haven't received the Lindens yet. I did the withdrawal 4 days ago. Can someone please help so that I understand this?
Also I've been trying to add my debit card on my profile so I can use it to buy Lindens and it keeps telling me that it's the wrong number or not enough numbers. I have entered it 6 times and know it's right. I also called my bank and nothing is wrong with my card or bank account. Please someone contact me as I don't know if I can find this again.
I'm waiting to pay my tiers so any and all help is much appreciated.

You need to convert those US dollars into Lindens first.

What Dekka means is that you have to BUY the Lindens first, using the USD you put into your Xstreet account. Withdrawing USD will just give you the ability to withdraw the USD via Paypal. Once you've purchased the Lindens, then you can withdraw them into SL.

Or... if you happen to get a card registered on the actual Linden website, you can use the LindeX from in world.... then there'd be no need to withdraw anything.

Does the name on your credit card match the name you signed up with? Even if it does the payment system is screwed up some how. I know this because last year I used a fake name to open my Rafe Zessinthal account and added a CC with no problems to get a premium account.

When I finally got my Rafe Phoenix account back (yesterday after a year of BS) I was going to go premium with it and could not add a CC. I called customer support and their answer was that I could not add a CC because I used a fake name on the account. I said "HUH? I have my real name on that account." I gave them my name so they could change it and they said ohhh that's the name on the account. Customer service was little help here. Just for an experiment I went to the Zessinthal account (was fake name on this one until last night when support changed it, I'll save ya the long "we have different names for these accounts" conversation I had with LL) and tried to use a different card and the system is refusing to accept it. I have tried 3 cards with both accounts and no matter what my CCs are not accepted.

I finally just settled for paying my Phoenix account with PayPal. I then decided to drop the Zessinthal account to basic and that was refused because I did not have a payment method on file. WTF you can't goto a free account if you don't have a payment method? OK whatever, I added Rafe Z. to paypal and switched it to basic.

I am assuming that LL updated their payment verification and screwed it up some how but then again who knows.
