Hey guys.

I have an ATI Radeon HD4870 512MB.

4 gigs of ram.

My client keeps crashing every now and then.. About 5-6 times a day.

Is there any reason for that? I don't seem to notice a real pattern.

My last round of crashes was caused by cpu cooler and vents clogged with dust--causing a heat problem.

You might also want to turn your draw distance and anti aliasing down a bit.

I've recently dusted my PC with compressed air, I doubt that's the reason.

Also, I've noticed (not SURE, but probable) that whenever I only crash when and if my graphics are on anything higher than "low"..

Which sucks. D:

I, on the other hand, am really getting constant crashes. I recently reinstalled my XP SP2 and then I used the latest SL Client installer (Second_Life_1-22-11-113941_Setup.exe). Every time I run SL and try to log on, the progress bar goes halfway (to "loading multimedia" or somesuch) and then I see the crash logger. Every time.

It worked before, but I haven't used it in months.

Proc is an Intel 5200 (dual-core 2.5 GHz), RAM is 1GB, video is ATi Radeon 3650. No hardware reason for this to happen.

Maybe some of the client updates I missed along the way added a special system requirement I don't know about?...
