The plot adjoining my land was purchased by a person who constructed a club. A few days ago I was extremely pleased to see that the club was gone and the land is now owned by Governor Linden. My question is what will be the future of this land? As I understand things, this means the club owner abandoned the land. LL took over the land and it will eventually be up for purchase by auction. Correct? About how long is this process likely to take? I'm considering buying the land to prevent the constructino of something like another club. Thank you! Rhiannon

It may have been abandoned or otherwise seized by LL. It will eventually likely be auctioned, or (rarely) used by LDPW.

From: Rhiannon Meredith As I understand things, this means the club owner abandoned the land. LL took over the land and it will eventually be up for purchase by auction. There's several reasons that LL will reclaim land. Abandonment is one. Not renewing premium is another. You can also get LL so mad at you that they ban you. If it's a small chunk of land (512 or less) and you own 3 sides of it, you can do a support ticket and ask that they just give you the land. If not, do a support ticket anyways and ask that the land get sent to auction. Doing this will usually speed things up and, bonus, you'll get notified when they update your ticket - that's a good sign that it'll be on the auction page within a day or 3.

I don't know if asking to be given it is right. I recently wanted some tiny plots that the Gov had taken over. I put a ticket in and asked to buy them, as my land satisfied the 'adjacent' criteria. I got them at 1L per meter.

I see what seems to me to be "a lot" of parcels going purple in the past month or so. It can take a number of weeks between a parcel being put into the auction queue and its appearance in the auction pages. When a parcel gets into the auction queue, it gets an auction reference and shows as purple on the Map if you have Land Sales checked.
The Final Resolution email in response to a support ticket coincides with the entry into the queue. Following that, you just have to wait and keep an eye on the auction pages.

As a follow up on this: 20-July I raised a ticket on a parcel owned by a disbanded/empty group. 27-July I got a Final Resolution and the parcel went Purple as it went into the auction queue 31-July The parcel appeared on the Auction page, with a close date set for 2-August. YMMV
