Ok, there is a sign up in the bank's main branch, PSG Commerce Center 138, 117, 27 that says the following:
From: someone

-PSG Financial Hacked and all banking activities halted -

Please join the PSG Financial group for more information. the group is open for anyone to join, all you have to do is search groups for PSG Financial and then click join.

If you are trying to IM me there is a good chance that I will not receive your message as my IMs are capped daily. I will be posting regular updates to the group.

Bear in mind that any "SL Bank" is completely unregulated, uninsured, and for all intents and purposes entirely up to the whims of the bank's owner as to how they operate. Some people may well try to run them in an honest and forthright manner. I can't say in the case of the one you were dealing with. But most "SL Banks" are scams, and most can, and usually will, vanish on the depositors with no notice when their plans collapse.

Good luck on getting your deposits back. Hopefully you won't have lost much.

Best advice: If you want to place SL funds in a bank, cash them out and put the money in a RL world bank, where the operation of the bank is insured and regulated.

I have "Bankers" even contact me in world and one showed me a real impressive build of a Safety deposit box. I then showed him my rather poor build of a safe that I keep all my items in :)

I dont make anywhere near what some merchants in sl make but I like to spend it myself thanks.

Strange happenings I heard about this happening at another bank called BNT. I wonder if connected to the ATMs they are using.
I never understood why anyone would trust a unregulated bank or investment service here.

I actually would like to know why, too. Let's not make them feel too ashamed to post....

Because people want easy money, simply put. They see the high interest rate return and jump at it, rarely researching, only trusting the age of the avatar and how long the bank has been "in world." They see the nice word, "Linden," and assume that it's backed by Linden Labs in some way, shape, or form, since evidently Linden Labs didn't put them outta business.

And this doesn't answer the OP's question.. so I'll say, I hope they're getting it sorted out. Since the SL banks ARE unregulated in any way, they have no obligation to return any money that they might have lost due to the hacking.

I have several friends who lost a lot of money during the Ginko situation. I briefly used it because I kept being told by others I thought who were in know how this is safe way to save money and how Ginko helped them.
Then I decided I didn't want anyone to have my L except my alts even removed all my funds from SLexchange and the other place before they renamed themselves as Onrez
I am so glad I got out when I did.

If it hasn't collapsed yet, hopefully you get your money out.

All these Bank schemes in SL are ultimately just Ponzi scams.

All you most know by now, we are out all be put in our acount. This doesn't mean *SHIT* to PSG Financial there no where to be found is sl. Try and find or recieve an e-mail from Abalon Rossini, also I hope you can get there web site because that is gone as well. I think PSG should pay all us all our L$ but *HELL* when you find out you have no acount and a transaction record of 30 day. Plus the Lindens are staying out out it, we were screwed and yes, no *KISS* after they got done. I'll join the so called PSG group but will give you time till I feel it is a useless club not intent in helping those that put L$ in PSG. Me out over 31000L$, that's ok my rates just doubled...

I refuse to.. not because of ginko or anything else but because it maes no sense to me.

I bought this L$ or earned it so.. I'm gonna give it to someone else who has no liability to give it back.. oh but I know I will ;)

Makes no sense to me.. RL banks it makes sense... SL banks nope. Make an alt, there's your bank.

Mm hmm. And the one of the largest surviving SL "banks" just came out the other day and announced that the interest comes from sports betting. Maybe that's a little bit less nasty than a pyramid, but wow, just wow.

A bank I am an investor in recently had their website and atm's hacked.

They used a 'brute force attack'(aka database cracking) and hacked the website to make a phony L$10,000,000 deposit then started to withdraw the funds from atm's. It was just over $12,000 USD in Lindens taken. The owner of the bank contacted the Lindens via concierge. It took 7 days for the Lindens to trace all the funds down and return them to the bank.

Several of the banks in SL could have been hit by the same person(s) in the same or similar way.

Since this event I have a new found faith in the Lindens. Maybe not for less SL issues, but for returning the stolen money.

Raudf, it's not all cynical greed and grubbiness, honest. =D

Many High Schools across the nation encourage students to play a mock stock market as part of an accounting or business management course. I remember putting a lot of thought into which stocks I'd invest in and researching each company to beat my classmates. It was a lot of fun, and a great learning opportunity.

By the same token, I've invested about $L150 in an SL stock exchange; That's less than a real US dollar, and just 1% of my SL annual income from my premium membership stipend. Investing more than 10% would be foolish in my opinion, simply because it is unregulated, but each person is free to do what they like with their money. It's just as informative and fun as it was in High School.

I've researched the companies I've invested in, and while some will make money, some will not. That's just how stocks and banks, both RL and virtual work. SL has the added fun feature of personal interaction; While the Real World has millions of individuals involved in the industry, there are only about 5000 residents logged onto SL at any given time, so you see the soap opera interactions of business owners and investors much more clearly.

And yes, some banks and stock markets online fall prey to hackers, bad business practices, and other pitfalls, but if you invest wisely and keep track of what's going on, it helps you learn to be a better business person in real life as well. Believe me, anyone who got taken by Ginko will take a more active interest in learning the RL details of their 401k, business investments, and the stock market.

With SL's banks and stock markets, it is not about the destination of more lindens, and people need to learn that. It's about the journey of investing, staying on top of the market, and re-investing when necessary.

Don't really believe in banks RL that are starting, so... why should I believe in banks SL? There's nobody that can promise you will have your money back if they have some probs, and it's your fault cause you agreeded with their rules...

And hey, for the low interests they give, it's better if you camp for 10 mins a day ;)

My "bank" is my alt, I send him my money so I'm sure I won't spend it buying!! (just send him the money when I need to save some ^^ ).

At least if someone "hacks" my RL bank, my funds are insured through the FDIC and the FBI will be involved in tracking down the culprits and making sure they spend some time in a federal pound-me-in-the-a** prison. In SL, the only guarantee you have is that you'll never see your L$ again.

What is the point in an independent SL bank? The LL cash system, even if it hiccups from time to time, is probably a lot more solid that a third party bank. If such a bank pays interest, the profits are likely to be negligible on a small sum and not worth the worry and fear of disappearance with a large sum.
