as i`m sl`s f`ing looser nway, u can go hump a finger if u don`t like this post

using the hipporent system is all great but the prim counter is abit out of wack...
been over sl for an hour jumping from place to place wich evern remotly had a name of "prim counter" (sure helped to show me i`m cheap on rentals...)

i`m looking for a prim counter where i can add my uuid into so it doesn`t count my prims but counts all other prims (rentals) and shows all prims with a max usable

so far i`ve seen crap except the builtin hippo counter, anyone have an idea where to get such an counter wich just shows allowed/used + ignore supplied uuid`s prims?

thx

This is trickier than it sounds. Or, well, it might be, depending on where it's gonna run. Some things that will determine what the script will have to do:

Are the totals to be sim-wide, or just a single parcel?
Is the land group-owned?
If so, are group-owned objects to be excluded from the count, too?
How should temp-rezzed objects be counted?

And then, if the land has a prim-bonus factor, all bets are off for the accuracy of the total available. (Not sure what happens on void / "open-space" sims.)

Might help to know in what way the Hippo script is "out of whack" to know what's actually wanted.

hey qie :)

group owned land
rentals divided into their own parcels
counter to show max allowed and currently used
must ignore my prims
no group objects to be counted
temp rez ignored, hate those f`ers so not allowing them
just a simple prim counter with the possability to exclude me

the hippo counter just doesn`t counts the prims, gets stcuk and not updated, count my prims + tenants or displayes the wrong prim account totally, can`t even remotly figure out what`s going on with it as it`s no mod in the rental box, drives me f`ing nuts as ppl have no idea how much they used (over 400 prims abouve allowed with 2 combined) heh

edit: got a reply from Andy trough their support, but still looking for a prim counter and hopefully he`ll figure it out

Hi,

Do you want the prim counter to count only a specific tenant's prims? If so (this is a plug) I make a prim counter that does just that.

It works with group owned or regular land and can count prims on several parcels (in case a tenant has prims in several locations) or just one parcel of land.

It works when a user clicks the prim counter. The counter looks up the user's ID and compares that to a listing of people using prims tells the user how many prims they are using. It works in a similar way if you use it to check several parcels of land for prims. So it ignores your prims and only count's the tenant's prims.

I currently do not have the counter integrated with HippoTech since I assumed that the new version works well - based on its description.

If there are problems with it, I suggest that you contact the person that makes HippoTech before you buy something else since HippoTech has great support. You may have found a bug or might just need some help getting it going.

If all else fails, let me know and I'll work on to customizing my prim counter to integrate with HippoTech.

just need a simple prim counter that excludes my own prims and in wich i can set the allowed total prims and that it will show allowd prim - used prims

this is just for rentals to see what they have used on their plot by everyone they allow to build
it`s worthless for myself as i do it trough the land (wich not everyone knows) and insert it into an excel sheet for all prim calculations troughout the sim

just need something simple like this asap or i`d break my head making it myself

I have a script I give out that counts prims, but it's not the solution for you (it doesn't know about excluding any particular avatar's prims, nor the concept of an "allowed" count that differs from that allowed on the parcel itself). But one thing that may be confusing the Hippo thing is that, on group-owned land, the script that counts the prims *must* be deeded to group (yes, "deeded";), or it will be unable to count when its owner (who must have certain parcel permissions) is offline or is out of the sim and its immediate neighbors. I can easily imagine a script having trouble recovering after getting "stuck" like that. So if that's the kind of "freezing" you're seeing, and the counter isn't deeded to group, then that could be the remedy.

Even if that's not the problem with Hippo, don't panic. If all else fails, I could hack up something... but if 2fast has something based off an actual product, that would be much better.

looked abit further and still nothing to be found so i rezzed the normal networked version and it worked like a charm

i`ve added it to the ticket with Andy so i hope it`s a small bug in the web version he can exterminate (hopes it`s that) :p
