It's a stupid question, but...I AM blond, sl and rl. *sigh*

I bought the Xcite lips because i want to smile when i wish, not the every-20-second-smile that's free. I've turned off the text because I will only show facial expression, not a stupid text in open chat.

So far, so good. But there's a problem that I have to leftclick on my lips to get up the control panel. There must be an easier way to make my av smile?

I can have the panel open all the time, but that takes a lot of wiew. I don't have time to zoom in on my face and click on my lips when in chat or walking, or watching the other ones i talk to.

Is it possible to use the chat channel and type /and a commando that animates the lips? Ok, I have possibly made a stupid choice to buy these lips, but I have to make the best of it now.

You'll have to buy the Xcite HUD, thats the only way if you don't want to zoom around and click Smile.

Xcite has a group chat for these types of questions too, just search it and you should find it, it has a large number of helpful members.

I'm not familiar with the Xcite lips, so I don't know if they use the same standard smile expressions that are used by every other emoter out there.

But, assuming that they do...

You didn't need to buy these lips just to get control over your smile. You can do that with Gestures, either assigning a hot key to the Smile and Toothsmile expressions, or by typing the relevant chat command such as /smile.

If you prefer a HUD menu for your expressions, there are a number of them out there. Some offer only manual controls, others only automatic (like the free smiler attachment you mentioned), and some with a mix.

I use the AutoEmote HUD, and usually leave it set to automatic. It listens to my chat, and when it detects a word in its list, it activates the appropriate (usually!) facial expression. It also has buttons you can click to manually trigger an expression.

And I agree with Brenda...the default toothsmile makes it look like my avatar's passing gas, and is embarrassed about it. I wish LL would improve the facial expressions! But there isn't a lot that the makers of emoter gadgets can do about it...that's the "menu" they have to work with.

My excite lips are fantastic. The excite fangs are good too, if you swing in the blood lust vampire way.

I think the excite lips are more for blowing kisses, licking your lips and thoes of others, smiling, meh. Better HUDs for that.

I'm happy to see the fine tradition of the lackluster blow has made the jump to SL!

Ooooohhh .... *those* lips ...

/me slaps her face and picks her mind out of the gutter ...

Seriously though, couldn't you just make triggers that would activate gestures based on your chat?

Why not just make a gesture to smile, either from a keypress or /chat (or both)?

My AV smiles whenever I use a smilie in chat... :)

Not in, but I think in the lower right hand corner on the bottom tool bar there is a tab to click on for gestures, not sure of the name. There might be one in there too. Plus blow kiss and stuff like that.
