Hmmm...

So I unpacked some shopping and it all copied fine to my Inventory, I renamed some of the folders after copying the stuff over, just to file it away tidily.... a few minutes later all of the no copy content had disappeared from the new folders, leaving only landmarks and notecards, mostly.

Never happened to me before. I've cleared cache, relogged, uninstalled, cleared profile, reinstalled, downloaded Inventory and the stuff is still not there. Any ideas if this is a temporary thing, or if I can mope around knowing I've lost the stuff?

Well, it has happened to me as a temporary thing. Try logging into a different region.

Maybe try "Recent Items" or do a search for the individual items by name

a long shot since you rebooted but worth a try.
