Have an issue that I would like some input on. I know if someone takes the contents of a PM in world, puts it into a notecard and sends it out, that is against the ToS. Is it also possible for the same rule to apply if someone takes a message from Yahoo messenger, copies it into a notecard in world, and passes it out? Not sure if this is something I could AR this person on or not.

Any info could really help. Thanks

Depends on Yahoo's terms of service, but I seriously doubt it.

Thanks Honey. I wasn't sure since she brought it into SL that the SL ToS would take over

As a general rule AR someone if you feel wronged let LL sort it out.
While what you stated in general in not against ToS, but it depends on content, it sounds like it would fall under harassment.

I wonder if this would qualify as harrassment and is that against the ToS?

Thanks Ghostly. So, if she brought in a private conversation into SL... and put that into a Notecard... does that violate that?

With all respect Ghosty, LL's TOS does not address anything outside of SL. That's why bloggers can post whatever they want, including chat logs.

I was just addressing the notecard query. :)

edit: OH, I see. Sorry. I thought you meant putting an IM's contents into a notecard.

I'm going back to my corner now.

But it's an outside conversation brought inworld. I really don't think they'd touch it. He could AR for the sake of it, but I doubt they'll move on it.

It isn't about cowardice Rio. It's about knowing which fights are worth fighting. SL drama...not worth it in my book.

Ignore her. Don't give her the satisfaction of bothering you. Make an alt...let her scream her frustrations to a cold, dispassionate void.

Life is too short to fight unnecessary battles.

Yes but it is much better to say "hey crazy effin bitch, you are going on my ignore list" then hiding on an alt.:)

ETA-Of course this all depends on the nature of the previous relationship before the drama started.

What Honey and Rio said.

Send her a scathing, cutting response. Tell her what you're going to do. Which is...

AR. LL probably won't act, but what the heck.

Then mute and ban.

Problem solved, blood pressure declining.

Lay out on the beach with a tall, cold, fruity drink.

The bad thing about going with the alt approach is that you are basically starting over - in pretty all aspects (inventory, friends, job reputation). And if you have mutual friends, you cannot let on to your friends that the alt is the same person -- hence you start getting into either being deceitful or walking away from all existing common friends.

As some one with an entire cadre of alts- I truly despise the hidding aspect of alts. I hate having to wonder, (and I usually don't which is why I have been fooled more than once by alts) is this person i am talking to real? Or just another head trip?

I am all for telling the person that screwed you over what to go do with themselves - ban, mute, etc - even if and when by some miracle you should ever talk to them again- NEVER let your guard down with them-
