Hi,

about half of the events that i'd enjoy are at times that totally clash with my RL, it being based on MET (SLT+9).

so here's the poll.

Did not vote because time zones have nothing to do with why i do not go to events.

briana, thats what the "dont go to events" option was meant for. should've put it like "i dont go to events for whatever reasons."

I only look at events happening when I can be on. If I don't know about it, I don't regret not being able to go, right? :)

I go to events when i have the fortitude to sift through the event calendar to find something i like, which is a task.

Time zones have nothing to do with it however.

I do not go to "Events".

I quit even looking at the Events Calendar listing years ago, because it was so heavily spammed with yard sales and pseudo-events that were really just ads for clubs, like "contests" that were held every single hour of the day.

Most "publicized events" become lagfests that were not worth attending for me.

If I happen to be in a club and they have a contest, that is cool. But if that same club was advertizing a contest and I wasn't there, I would most likely not leave what I was doing to rush off to attend their "Event".

Yup, one of the few events I regularly want to attend (a help-group) is only ever scheduled for US evenings, therefore around 3am where I am. My options are, I guess, to organise a similar Euro-friendly group or stay up until the early hours.

Most events I want to go to are ones I hear about through group notices. Often they are in the middle of the night but sometimes I will go anyway, so I am not sure which box to tick. For the sake of domestic harmony I have cut down on the number of events I attend in the early hours of the morning.

A kind of event I like going to is Linden Office hours. Since they are often during the day SL time that works great for me because it ends up in my evening when I'm home from work.

There are many events I would love to go to, but I miss cause I am not avaialble to be online.

Yesterday, a singer told me what times she would be singing today, and I was immediatelt disheartened because I knew I would be off SL for just about all those times, and probably all of them.

This does annoy me lots of times.

But nothing I could possibly do about it. Most of the time.

It's always when I'm working or too late for me. However I'm on vacation this week and next and have been spending it mostly in SL.
