Attaching a Poster to the Wall

How do you attach a poster to the wall of a house, or a store? I've created a nice new poster with a texture I uploaded. I use the rotate and position tools to place the poster "against" the wall. When I leave edit mode the poster falls to ground. How do you "attach" a poster to the wall? The only attach options I can find are to attach an object to various parts of my avatar. Obviously that is not what I am looking for, but I'm at a loss as to the proper technique.

Any advice for this newcomer would be most welcome.

Thanks,

Objects only fall to the ground if they have physics enabled. Edit your poster and look for a set of tick boxes on the 'object' tab (locked, physical, temporary and phantom) and make sure physics is *unchecked*. Don't have 'temporary ticked either, or the object will vanish after about a minute.

Locked: the object can't be edited or moved until it's unlocked.
Physical: the object is subject to gravity and momentum, and can fall and be pushed.
Temporary: the object de-rezzes after a short time; often used for bullets so sims aren't cluttered with used ammo.
Phantom: avatars other objects can move through the object (some objects are always phantom, like flexies or anything attached to your avatar)

NB: the default for a newly created object is to have all these unchecked, so disabling physics is not something you'd normally have to do.

I hadn't noticed the physics box before, but I'll certainly give it a try.

Thanks, Kelli!

Yep, it turns out keeping the "Physical" box unchecked worked great.

Thanks again, Kelli!

Just FYI - Unless you're making a vehicle, or something that has to interact with physics, like a multi-person elevator or a wind chime, virtually nothing you make in SL needs to have Physical enabled. A floor or a whole house doesn't need to be physical to walk around in it, and for the walls and floors to be solid for your avatar. A prim tree or a flag or a banner doesn't doesn't need to be physical to sway or flap in the breeze. Only check the Physical box if the thing won't work any other way. Checking it unnecessarily greatly increases the load on the sim, and accomplishes nothing worthwhile.
