Hello,
As a newbie I have collected/been given vast amounts of freebies. I am beginning to realise that some of my 'objects' are 'scripted' and can do things I did not realise they could do.
This has not been a problem, but is there a way of examining or editing an object to see if it has a script, and if so, what the script does ?
Thanks as always
FH

The safer way is to find a place where you can rezz objects but scripts are not allowed.
Rezz the suspicous objects there, edit it and look the contents. If the scripts is mod/copy, open it and analyze it. You can make it even with prim clothings.

A lot of your objects will be scripted. Bling, color changers, walk animations, among other things are all scripted.
Scripts that cause you to do something have to ask for permission. You are much more likely to be caught in a poorly made animation than anything malicious and in any case, just detach the object and tp to another sim will clear any wierdness.
Before a script can take money from you there is a big, yellow pop up that is hard to miss that it is a warning. You have to give the script permission to take money. ALWAYS ANSWER NO if you see these. There are very few exceptions but since you are not running a store with scripted vendors they will not apply to you. Just say no.
In the year I have been on, I have yet to see or know anyone personally that has had a scripted item do anying bad to them. I may have done something bad to them while they were sitting on a scripted object, but that's beside the point ...
