So LL is using one of the least reliable ISP's on the planet. Why? Why are they not at a carrier neutral facility like Equinix so they don't get pulled down by the incompetence of a single carrier? You get MUCH better pricing at a carrier neutral facility too since there is competition. With a locked-in ISP like the cruft that is Level3, you don't get that.
You can see it here:
13 ae-1-5.bar1.SanFrancisco1.Level3.net (4.69.140.149) 86.473 ms 86.399 ms 86.902 ms
14 ae-4-4.car1.SanFrancisco1.Level3.net (4.69.133.149) 204.377 ms * 348.680 ms
15 ae-11-11.car2.SanFrancisco1.Level3.net (4.69.133.154) 94.760 ms 95.325 ms 96.056 ms
LL - get a backup line. Demand better from your carrier. You want businesses to treat SL as a place where they can do business yet you don't have a reliable infrastructure - starting with your carrier. Do you want to take SL beyond perpetual alpha quality or not?
