After a hard crash last nite, he tries to log into SL and gets the message that he is being logged out. I can see him on the map in an invalid area. Any ideas how to get him totally logged from last nite so that he can actually log back in? thanks all!

1. Try sending him an IM.
2. Try sending him 1L. 3. File a support ticket. _____________________

Best is to hence a ticket to LL.
They will reboot the server he is currently stuck in, and they will release the user. _____________________

File a support ticket at www.secondlife.com/support and let them know the region name (not the parcel name) of the ghosted avatar's location. A region reset will get the avatar logged out completely and able to login again. If the region location is a private estate, you could also get the estate owner or an estate manager to do the same thing.

Wouldn't it also have worked for him to either log in to his home location (assuming that was different to the problem Sim) or another Sim altogether. Those can be specified prior to login on the SL client........

seen this happen before. another way to fix it is to log in with an alt and bump the ghost av off the region. region crossings seem to finish the logout.

I logged in with an account I only used for one day -- and found my ghosted self. I tried bumping myself, thinking that might help -- you just fly through my avi -- I'd have tried paying myself a linden, but the other account has none... I filled out a ticket, which, thus far, has been ignored. I have tried logging in through a SLURL, logging home, logging back where I crashed... I guess I should try the IM idea. Bleh... I am not Premium...just a lowly resident... |

I was able to knock someone the rest of the way offline once by orbiting them. We tried all the other suggested methods and none of them worked, so we started in with various weapons.

Just to let all know it did work,

and less than 5 minutes as promised. I was pleasantly surprised. Weird thing, he had been thrown in an area that you couldnt teleport to, or I would have tried bumping. When I did a search on map for him, he was in an "invalid" area. At the same time tho, thru the tech support folks he was talking with...they said they would take care of it, but that yes it could be an hour or two. Live Chat got it done in less than 5 minutes as promised.
