I have a problem that no one seems to be able to help me with.

1) i know how to make myslef invisible when online to the slected people whom i want o be invisible .


2( the problem is all they have to do is search group and it will show if you are actaully online, last login if not.



3) so please tell me how i can really be invisible in the different areas...as you can see the problem it can cause. someone says..it shows you are not online, but when i look up mutual groups..ther you are!





OH waht a mess..I sure would like to know how to disable this "wonderful" feature that perhaps sl had not considered.

Hi, Myown, welcome to the forums! Sadly, there is no way to disable this cute little feature! You can make it a little better by not showing groups in your profile, so that it doesn't occur to people who don't know you to LOOK in a group for you (you do that on the Group info page). But, if someone already knows you're in a group, there is no way to fully conceal your online status from them.

There are only two courses of action, I think. You could be upfront about it, and tell your friends that sometimes you need time to do other things. If that other thing is building, it's very common for folks to use the "busy" status to let people know that they need some uninterrupted time.

Or, you could get an "alt" .. an alternate account, and not tell folks you want to hide from that you have the alt. This can backfire rather unpleasantly ... it's best to either tell friends you have an alt, or NEVER let your alt go places where your friends are.

Two ways to be totally invisible to others in SL.

1) Don't log in

2) create an alternate account and use that.

Otherwise, there is no way to truly hide in SL.
