I received and im from someone wanting two swap my 512 parcel with a 1024 parcel elsewhere. Is there any procedures that would insure no one gets screwed on such a deal?

Unfortunately, there really isn't.

Trust is the only recourse, I've done this a couple of times myself and never been ripped off.

Damien, I would just say, "Yes, I agree to that. Set the parcel to me for 0 L. I'll buy it and then I'll then set mine for sale for 0 L to you." If they agree, then you know they're honest. You don't have anything to lose by trying it that way. This procedure ensures that you don't get screwed. It doesn't assure the other person, except you can do it in good conscience since you know that you're honest.

Can also just set both parcels for sale at market value to each other, so that if "the other guy" is trying to scam, well, you can go buy another plot. Alternatively, you can use a neutral, well-known third party to act as an escrow service.

I could actually do this. I'm not famous or anything, but I have enough left over tier right now to take all 2048 of the land here and redistribute it to the right parties.

Good luck with this one if you do it, bro.
Good suggestions above but I know that feeling of "what if" well.
It seems it would not be hard to come up with a trade system. Where you put up a deed, they put up theirs or the money and then when you both click agree it is locked in and does the trade. The Sims Online did this for crying out loud.. you would thing LL could figure it out.

Land Realtors usually have a lot of free tier, and are usually well-known enough to where a bad rep would significantly hurt their sales. I don't know any who offer such an escrow service, but a couple whom I would trust with such a task (even for a small fee) would be Timo Daehlie and Sarah Nerd.

I would trust Sarah Nerd widout reservation. I dunno if she'd be willin' ta do this tho'.

Yeah, I dunno if any of them offer such a service, but I suppose it can't hurt to ask and offer to pay a small fee for their time.
