Daily L$ buy limit of 10USD?

I was just wondering what was up with this. I have a basic account, and need to buy about $40USD wourth of Lindens, but I'm being told I can only buy $10USD wourth per day. I don't remember this limit being in place before, though the only other time I've bought Lindens was with my other account that used to be a premium acct. It is also now a basic account. I thought there was a way too, to buy L$ on SLEX, but I'm not sure how to do that. So, if anyone has any helpful hints on what's up, or how I can buy the L$ on SLEX I'd be thrilled! Thanks all!

you need to spend some money, this triggers a timer and eventually the limit will go up, however if you really need the money for something important like paying rent, the best thing to do is telephone support, sometimes they can up your limit while your on the phone.

alternatively buy it with your other account and transfer it to yourself?

It's 10USD for the first buy, but then it should start increasing on day 2 (your first purchase date would be day 0). It's a fraud prevention measure.

The limits are monthly, not daily, although they do ramp up. Your monthly limit for days 0-1 is 10USD, days 2-7 is 100USD, days 8-27 is 300USD, and 2500USD thereafter. This means, if you spend 10USD the on day 0, you'll actually only have 90USD available on day 2 and every buy reduces the original 100USD further. Similarly, if you spend 100USD by day 7, you'll only have 200USD available on day 8, with a 300USD maximum for the entire month.

If you need more right now, do a buy and transfer with your other account. Doesn't matter if it's Basic now, it should still have the higher buy limits.

It's there for all new accounts, the limit quickly ramps up over time.

If you need more than that now, you could try SLExchange. Many people here use them exclusively because you can get a better rate for lower amounts.

Isn't there a waiting period with them too? When I signed up and transfered some money there, I couldn't access my money right away.

Sounds like support ticket time to me, slow as that can go. Wish I knew a faster way - maybe call Patsy in billing? She's pretty helpful.

It's the same paypal account tied to myalt, so it was giving me a notice saying that I couldn't transfer the L to that acct either, but hubby to the rescue, I'm sending him the money so he can buy the L$. his limit is something like 3K USD so no issues there. then this can work itself out and I can pay tier Thanks again!

I don't think that's why. I transfer L$ back and forth with my alts fairly often and they're all set up on the same PayPal account. Different emails though.

Typically if to transfer money from SL to SLEX they may put a hold on it. Usually going from SLEX via a terminal in SL is no problem.

The only time I had a problem was transfering $L10,000 from SL to SLEX.
