Hello !
Well...There is something that's really upset me...
I've a entire sim to my store...I do my best to promote events almost everyday...and I'm aways trying to improve my sim to let it more atractive..such as good beach...place to surf...
It's important to my business atract trafic not just for the traffic score..but a sim with a good movement increases the sales too.
The point is...When I try to search usign the search tool a guy with less then half of my traffict appear on top !
What exactlly this guy made to cheat the others and manipulate the results to appear OnTop ?

The classified part of the search window can be alphabetized by name or price. Have you clicked on the name header accidentally?
The search feature frustrates the shoppers too. I for one completely disregard the position on the search list whether its acheived alphabetically by a string of space characters, or by traffic numbers. In fact, businesses higher on the list are more supect for me. However it's the newer people who may need to buy more and they may not yet know of these practices -- not that I'm all that old and experienced. Personally I can barely wait for the new search feature coming out in a future update which should eliminate these advertising gimmicks that are all too much like real life for me. It will be up to the actual value of the product and the creativity of the builder to get good sales -- I hope. --KC |

At least...should be...but there is a way to let the land name blank or null or inputing some special character to cheat the search.Im trying to understand it... For example...try to search for: prefab (include mature) 1st result: Traffic: 11238, Area: 19792 sq. m. (cheating, using the method) 6th result: Traffic: 14786, Area: 60096 sq. m. (not cheating..have description) as you can see...the 1st result had less traffic that the 6th result because the owner is using some method to cheat the search. Just for research...My store is the store that appear on 6th (Ayruma Homes)... I will try 2 things: 1-set my land as "no description" Result: Now I'm appear on 2nd...the cheater appear on top.It means that's set the land to blank description is not the way... Now let's try the 2nd stuff: fill the land name with spaces... Still the same result: Appear on 2nd place. Well...That's it... |

The "ALL" search is just ordered Alphabetically, traffic or plot size are not factors in the search - All includes Classifieds & Groups etc as well as places so it's not relevant to sort by those criteria. Land Places does sort by traffic as a default

Simple : Ppls spent a lot of money with camping just to increase the traffic to appear on the All Tab results. if u click on the anme tab then yea, blanks will be on top  besides, who f`ing cares about campers or traffic, the more camper, the worse the sales i don`t go to high traffic area`s just of that, they want to throw money away with 80 campers? let them lower their product prices with no campers and they will attract double the traffic and tripple their sales thank god traffic will be pointless soon with the new search! _____________________

For now...I Don't like to discuss things "off topic"...Obviouslly you can contact me InWord to discuss these things and will be a pleasure I just have a question: How someone with less traffic can appear on top ? |

I am completly right The All Tab is sorted by name and this cannot be changed by the user Classified by default is sorted by price descending Events by Time ascending Popular places and Places by Traffic descending People by Name ascending Groups is the only one which has no default sorting It may be more relevant for the All Tab search to sort by traffic but it doesn't - its a purely alphanumeric sort on the name |

This is not that what Im talking about... Im just considering LAND NAMES, it means: results with the blue house to the left ! Not classifieds, groups, land sales...only the announcement that you pay 30 L$ week at the Options Tab on the land tools ! I'd like to know (oh, god..I Don't wanna try to explain one more time...I gave up...let me draw at this time)... try this url: http://www.ayruma.com/temp/search.jpg You will see on the 1st result someone with a sort of null name or maybe a special character inserted. I Already trial: - Let the name of my land null - fill the name of my land will [space] in all the positions. Results: I got in 2nd place. So, anyone have any idea how this guy made it ? |

Very simpily, put a ! or a string of !!!!! as the only character in the discription or as the first character of the description and it will sort toward the top.
!A will sort higher than A. You have to consider the sort order and the special characters sort toward the top of the list. I use this to organize my inventory. A folder name with an ! as the first character will sort above a folder name with an @ as the first character and both of these will sort above any folder where the first character is just an ahlpa character. _____________________

I belive that there is a sort of special character that can be put on the Land Name and/or land description that maybe can allow results to appear in the 1st row... in the 1st moment I considered that filling all the field with SPACE characters such as " " can cause this effect.. No, is not Then I put the land name to (null)...no characteres, no spaces..just "nothing"... well..no effect... |

I notice when you view another search result, then select that one again, the Name doesn't change in the view on the right.
