Ok, having a moment of serious nostalgia here....my fiancee just called me from Martha's Vineyard (where he's working for two months!) from a little hardbor side Jewelery store that my family has faithfully shopped at for years (we have a home there, spent my childhood and many summers there, waaaaa....I wanna be there!)
So.....anyway.....it got me thinking and I want to add a rock jetty to my island. The terraforming will be easy enough, just not sure where to get a good texture for the rock surface. Any suggestions? (as a kid I spent many hours at the end of the jetty off that harbor)
Next question....relating to my machinima thread.........can I use Windows Moviemaker to edit videos I capture using XFire????

For a jetty, I would use one of the billion rock wall textures freely available in SL - look carefully for one that is just rocks, no mortar. Even some from Gnubie or Yadni's are quite nice. Or, if those don't fit, I would shop in xstreet for one I liked. Then I would scatter around a few sculptie boulders and texture them with a similar-looking rock surface texture. I sure hope you put the Black Dog somewhere nearby too p.s. there is an SL region called Martha's Vineyard, and of course the Nantucket sim is cute. .

Ugh.....so much for that brilliant idea....I can't texture the land. I rent my island and it was one of those pre-formed files (I didn't buy the file, it was already done and exactly what I wanted) But...I can't texture it. Bummer. I guess it's on to my machinima project (lol I'm so afraid to try it.....I have the program and for some reason I can't bring myself to log in with XFire lol)

A man is a fiancé. A woman is a fiancée.

From: Naz Fride A man is a fiancé. A woman is a fiancée. Not *all* men are fiancés, for clarification. Some are husbands, some are widowers and the lucky ones are completely single. Pep (whose rl surname is Lewis, and when single was known as "Foot Lewis and fiancée-free" )

From: Naz Fride A man is a fiancé. A woman is a fiancée. This is relevant because.........??? Here I'll make it easier for you.....how about this.....he asked me to marry him some time in 2007, before he left for another 12 month job in Iraq (no, we're not foolish young kids who have dillusions about long distance romance....we're 40yo adults who decided we wanted to be together).....But the subject has never come up again even though we've moved, bought a house and are working on our so called 'life' together. The way it looks to me, really, is we will never get married....there just isn't any point to all the hoop-la at this stage. So.....while I appreciate your overpowering NEED to correct my proper use and spelling of the word......it's really quite unnecessary for me to use it at all......thus sparing you the apparently heavy burden of having to 'correct' lines from these posts, and subsequently ignoring the actual topic of discussion. Hope this sets your troubled literary mind at ease. And if anything else in this post is incorrect..... bite me.

From: Pserendipity Daniels Pep (whose rl surname is Lewis, and when single was known as "Foot Lewis and fiancée-free" ) That's too funny. And I thought the term for men was usually "financé".
