Im currently hanging a place with Roleplay and someone as the same first name as I do. So it gets very confusing. Can Lindens change the names of our avatars ?

I'm under the impression the Lindens will only make capitalization corrections. The only complete name changes I've ever seen is when the name has been tagged as "broadly offensive".

Unfortunately, the answer is no. There's been some talk of a process to change last names, but the cost was outrageous. You're sort of stuck with what you have unless you make an alt, at which point, you may have trouble because you can't just make a new account and transfer all of your stuff to the new alt.
