How do I remove the ability of having my skin, prims, etc., become multicolour? I went into Edit => Preferences => Graphics, and moved the positioner to Faster speed. I thought that resolved the problems, but is there more I have to do to remove the multicolour effect on my skin, prims, and other associated items?

Could you post an example? I for one do not understand the question..
(It sound as if perhaps you are experiencing a graphics problem unrelated to SL)

From: Amaranthim Talon (It sound as if perhaps you are experiencing a graphics problem unrelated to SL) Like I may require a high-resolution graphics card on my PC? I had a GE-Force 8500 NVIDIA graphics card installed last summer, and is that a problematic graphics card for SL nowadays?

Multi colored, what do you mean with that? I don't understand your question either.

There used to be a weird SL bug that would make textures appear in psychedelic colors, but I haven't seen that one in about a year. A relog would usually fix that one, a cache clear for stubborn cases, but almost it sounds like you might have something bigger going on.
