I've actually had less lag in the previous 7 days than in the month prior.

I've also not been having an issue with lag. Anyone else?

I've been happily non SLagtastic the last few days as well. Not sure if it's something they've done server side or if it's the latest RC viewer I'm using http://secondlife.com/support/downloads.php#download-Testviewers

One thing I've been noticing more and more over time, is that overloaded sims are a lot less likely to keel over and restart. Crashing sort of kept the load in check as people got disconnected and logged back in elsewhere. Now a lot of those sims keep chugging away in permanent slow motion, with frightening stats. So at least for those sims, the lag really is worse because those places are working better :o

It was very laggy for most the month, but improved dramatically about 10 days ago, when they did whatever changes were supposed to deal with the weekend rush better. Last weekend was wonderful, 80,000+ on and running very smooth. Then on Thursday it suddenly got very bad, TP has been as bad as I've ever seen it the last couple of days, I've been logged out of SL on at least half my attempts to TP in the last 2 days.

But it will get better again no doubt, we go through these bad patches from time to time, they're a pain, but at the end of the day, it's worth putting up with.

I solved the Holly Lag in my sim by finally taking down the Christmas decorations.

Me, I was thinking, "Who is Holly Lag and isn't it against TOS to mention her?"

Aside from that- the lag has been hell for ages - worse lag I mean than the lag I am accustomed to. Between the endless greyness and the lagtastic rezz times every time i go somewhere--- argh! is all i can say- argh!!!

I'm getting slow rezzing of scenery and avatars when I arrive somewhere but once everything's rezzed lag isn't bad.

I was experiencing extreme lag and poor performance over the last 2 months following a re-install of Windoze XP. My computer is a 3.4gHz dual-core 945 Pentium with 2 gB of RAM and an nVidia 8500GT w/512mB RAM. Out of desperation I disabled the folowing settings in my BIOS :

1) Execute Disable Function
2) Enhanced C1 Control
3) CPU Internal Thermal Control
4) Intel SpeedStep

And now it goes like a rocket. No lag at all. Even in crowded sims and textures load up much faster too!

What the hell are you talking about here? It seems like everyone is onto a different kind of lag.

There are is an incredible diversity of lags, just calling it 'Lag' alone is just incredibly annoying as it just confuses.

- Asset Server Lag
- Sim Lag
- Sim Host Lag
- Client Lag
- Network Lag
- Login Lag

Personally I have been experiencing lots of sim lag, with time dilations being sensitive with the recent simulator update.

Something's messed up for you, I just did it in less than three minutes.
