After much searching, which did not find the answer to my question I have to ask . How do I get two clients to run on my computer?

if you are using windows, on the desktop shortcut, right click, choose properties, then in the target info add --multiple to the end of it

(it needs the 2 dashes)

edited to add it may need quotes around it

"--multiple"

Actually, it only needs one hyphen and no quotes, BUT there must be a space in front of the hyphen.

There are or were some cases in which client parameters such as multiple have required or do require two dashes. I can't remember what they were or are and it's not worth looking it up.

The Second Life wiki has a page for this which you can find doing a Google search for

second life multiple

and the url is at http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Help:Running_multiple_instances_of_the_Second_Life_client

The wiki page for the general topic of client parameters is at http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Client_parameters .

I tried this and although successful in getting both online it was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo laggy I decided not to continue doing it... ever again. I have issues crashing anyway so why stress ole nelly even farther, eh?

But I see the use to test poseballs in builds, to have models in your stores etc... One sim I visited had like 8 models... I wondered what kind of super computer they used for this...

To ease the bandwidth issues using two viewers:
Turn all the graphic settings to minimum on both clients. It will help.
i.e. Nothing turned on. 64 m draw distance etc.
