Performance?!

The Performance of SL has been terrible lately.
I have just tried to log on three times, each time there has been something different going wrong.

The last time I went on:

The whole of the region I was in (even though it was owned by different people and is not normally this) was fly, build, push. Aparantly I was in 0 groups, and half of my friends were "Waiting...".


In the end SL is just going to be beaten by some competition, because you guys REALLY can't do your job at the moment.

I am so pissed off with having this poor performance...

I'm not seeing the problems described here. Well, the Friends List has been b0rked on and off for weeks now, but not for me right now, and nothing remotely like the other ones. In fact, performance has been rather better lately for me, most of the time. And these particular problems all sound pretty network-related, so, could it possibly be worth a try rebooting the router? (Might be network location or an ISP thing, too, which wouldn't be so easy to resolve, but just looking for something to try that might help.)

I have been having various random problems on and off lately too - for example, just last night my complete friends list was 'waiting' the whole time I was on (2 hours) so I can understand the OP having frustrations with various things.

If you are lucky enough not to be having any problems then fair play and I hope you don't start to have any, as it's irritating to say the least!

SL performance has been reasonably good for me recently, although it was even better a few weeks ago.

Is it a problem with the region you're logging in to? Have some residents put lots of laggy stuff there?

I'm beginning to wonder if SL is coming up to more scalability issues. I notice a drop in performance at times when login concurrency goes up near to 60000. This used to happen months ago when it got to half that - but obviously upgrades to both server and client side improved performance. It is beginning to feel a bit like deja vu sometimes now though.

It seems to me that the past couple days it has really sucked.....

Today I have crashed out 4 times......(in the process of crashing right now on a teleport)
I have fallen through the land where I had to tp out....
Also at one point I was ruthed for about 10 minutes.....(I don't look good with breasts!!! lol)

wish I hadn't updated, but had no choice.

Anyone want to date a ruth???

It could just be the sim's performance.
The "Bodhisena" region has been EXTREMELY Poor lately, crashing around 4 times a day (at the most INCONVENIENT times - I am usually on for 5 hours maximum, and it usually crashes at least 2 times in those 5 hours)...

Then you're definately having a problem in the region and blaming SL in general will never do any good.

For the first time in almost a year (knock on wood) I've lost inventory. The odd thing was that it was three items I had on SLexchange. Decided to take them off the market for a few days, transferred the items back into my inventory and took the SLexchange box into inventory.

The next time I checked for the items (a few days later), they were gone. *sighs*

Also "tried" to take a class today and the sim crashed three times. Each time we diligent students returned....instructor began again/continued. Finally we got the dreaded "the region you are in is about to restart."

Oh and last night at the Avilion Ballroom, anyone who arrived generally had at least one attachment missing. I lost one shoe and prim skirt; a man returned from a crash bald and never did get his hair back.

Other than that...things are hunky dory
