Hi all, well I have been having some pretty horrible issues with SL, but I think I have them all worked out, mainly freezing PC, audio loopage etc....

Now, I have lag so bad I can hardly move, no one else has it around me and I used a friends PC to test and I had none then....

It seems to be much worse when faced with flexi items and a lot of prims around, my partner just made this great garden area on my sim and I cant even go there because the lag is so bad everything seems to move in slow motion, my FPS is like 1.

specs, if anyone has clues..

Second Life 1.22.11 (113941) Mar 6 2009 12:50:02 (Second Life Release)
Board: Intel Corporation DG31PR AAD97573-301
CPU: Intel Core 2 Series Processor (2333 MHz)
Memory: 2045 MB
OS Version: Microsoft Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (Build 6001)
Graphics Card Vendor: NVIDIA Corporation
Graphics Card: GeForce 8500 GT/PCI/SSE2 (drivers ver 7.15.11.6925 - from disk)
OpenGL Version: 2.1.2

I "had" newer versions of the driver for graphics installed but, I crashed within 5 min of having SL running....

Now I knwo my PC is not top of the line, but "should" be able to run SL without problems, right? (it had previously without to many issues)

BTW: this all started after I installed the new SL client.

I have done everything I know in the SL prefs, lowering to the lowest settings all that jazz, clear cache.. blah blah.... Also, noted when I go into apperance my face is black and sometimes other body parts, after leaving app- it returns to normal...
Also, when I cam around peoples faces are distorted with very sharp chin angles and their body parts are kinda fubar... then its like my screen refreshes and they are ok again...

I seriously dont know what to do and I dont venture out of my skybox much lately because I cant stand the lag (or horrible fps) IDK what is wrong..

Please any suggestions are appreciated.

RE Lag

Hi, you could try lowering your texture memory in prefrences>graphics> hardware options, I used to have serious issues running on an old machine with 1.5gb ram lol...I leave mine around the 112-128 mark in busy sims and my ram usage has dropped from 1gb+ to around 600-800mb in a sim with around 40 people without the stutters and screen freezing and an improved fps, hope this helps :D.
