Depending on what out-of-world software you are using, you should be able to re-shape the image to the right dimensions to make it less weird. Even MS Paint can do that if you simply cut round the whole image and then resize it. What resolution are you using in the client itself? I find that images tend to be stretched horizontally slightly, which is easy to fix in photoshop or the gimp etc.

pretty sure you need to enable high-quality snapshots.

I take heaps of photos in sl before this and no problems. Its just with the RC. My screen size is 1440x900. Its not possible to fix it in Photoshop. I have attached the photo to look at.
I have High rez snapshots enabled. I run an ATi x1300 card, 1gb ram, pentium d 3.0 machine and have never had problems like this. I didnt change any of the preferences, just uploaded the new rc and logged on. I am hoping its just a bug and will be fixed before it is released as the primary viewer. Thank you for your help so far ![]() |

Surreal, that looks like a driver issue to me, which is not surprising, considering you're using an ATI card. When's the last time you updated the card's driver? LL's been having a hell of a time trying to get ATI to make their drivers work properly.
You might also want to consider taking screenshots through your OS, rather than inside SL. In Windows, the shortcut to copy your desktop to clipboard ist ctrl-printscreen. Then just make a new image in Photoshop, and paste (ctrl-v) the contents of the clipboard into the image. _____________________

I'm having a similar problem. My shots suddenly went this weekend from crystal clear to 3/4 all black. Now i have to manually click snapshot>save to disk to clear up the black, control ` no longer works for me.

It's am idea but not the solution i use to take 12Mb files to keet the high resolution12MB is 2048x2048. What are you doing that you need the resolution that high? Printing? I can't think of any other reason an on-screen snapshot would need to be that big. You'd get a very good 6.8x6.8" print, or a pretty good 13.6x13.6" print, out of that. Is that what you're doing? Just curious. _____________________

I have the latest drivers with my ati card, im hoping the graphic card fairy will be me a ge force 8800 real soon.
I also have it on high rez, always have that way its easier to manipulate in photoshop. I dont like screen grabs, doesnt give me the same feel in photoshop. Oh well just hope they fix it before making it the normal client, then i will be in trouble. ooo there is a jira on it though, so hopefully they will fix the bug. |

All articles on www.slmen.com are done by default on that resolution (I'm one of Ben Vanguard' colaborators) and we use to grab those high resolution .bmp files and then work the compositos on photoshop (of course we downsize them on photoshop) |
