Please HELP - Clothing Download Problem

Hey, today when I logged on, I got a message:
"Your clothing is still downloading. You can use the world normally, and other users will see you correctly"
hmmm, OK. Except normally male, I appear as female.
I cant access anything in my inventory, I cant change appearance, I cant teleport anywhere. Cant do anything usefull.
The last time I was on (yesterday) I did give someone modify permission, they cold modify any of my objects. Could that be causing the problem?
If anyone has any advice, let me know.

This is usually caused by one of two things (sometimes both)

(1) Your ISP connection is having problems.

(2) The asset server on Linden Lab's end is having problems.

What kind of ISP speeds are you getting now?

I understand your first point. I had that happen a while ago when my ISP plan was crap and I overshot the download limit. It reverted back to dialup speed. Thats not the case this time. Followed your link (thanks) - got 628 kps.

You can try going into Edit - Preferences - Network - push the Clear Cache button - then close the Second Life program and start it up again

Yep - did that. No good.
I thought maybe I jad to many things in the inventory. So while I'm looking like crap I go through and delete a whole bunch of stuff.
I then log and relog. All the stuff deleted is still there.
Aahhh, so annoying.

Did you also empty the trash after deleting?

Sounds like maybe your inventory server has problems, which would explain why your shape won't load properly... or you have a firewall or other security software interfering on your end.

it's the asset server and that only nobody has any speical permissions or anything wait a few hours and relog that ussualy fixes it
then and only then will clearing the cashe help. before that you might be working off the cashe but it's still trying to downlaond from the assect server.
most of those type problems are couse by a bottle neck outside your system eigheeter at your isp or between them and LL. also if LL is having issues with the texas group o servers it will sometimes effect you that way.

ask how others see you and if it's not right go find a sandbox away from your normal one and practuse building thereuntill the server catches up

Ouch, that sounds like an asset problem or a connection problem. Have you tried rebooting your router/modem? I have this happen when there's been a power outage and they've decided to 'quirk' on me.

Thanks guys, I just logged on to empty the trash as suggested by Novis and I appeared as I should, could tp, could do everything.
It seemed to have fixed itself.
