I confess I am a bit confused about what one can do with the land in Zindra. I thought I had read you cannot sell any land at present, but here is an entire region up for sale. Is one able to sell their Zindra land? http://slurl.com/secondlife/Lesser%20Farnley/233/222/60

There's at least one land speculator who managed to get at least two regions of free Zindra land in exchange for mainland holdings that had no adult activity on them at all, as far as anyone could tell. I haven't bothered to look and see if the person ofering that region for sale is the same speculator, but it would seem likely.
Guess somebody had a friend on the inside among those approving the land swaps. Or else, more likely, the people approving the swaps were grossly incompetent. _____________________

how much are they asking?
At the moment the way LL are talking they won't allow landsales before the auctions - which is clever on their part as they'll drive prices higher than they would be if people could actually see a real price and what the demand is (or isn't). _____________________

Well, I didn't think LL's was going to look at each plot listed in the land swap ticket to verify it had Adult objects on it, way too many tickets, they just took the ticket , looked to see if the land was available in Zindra and filled it......The land I saw for sale was at L$6.5per sqm

So there's no overt extortion on the part of the seller. The one thing I don't want to see is a rerun of bay city with those ridiculous prices. Auctions unfortunately can bring out a lack of sense in people and without any kind of pricing data they're just sitting ducks for LL to exploit. _____________________

About a week before I got my land, I had a Linden visit my store to check if it qualified for the swap. The only thing he did (had a short chat with him) was checking out parcels to see if they qualified. So what happened with the region dude, dunno. On the other hand it was so easy to qualify for a swap, that they just might have adapted their regions in order to get the swap. Imagine, two regions completely for free, if only you put some adult stuff on your existing regions, change the name/description, and put them up for search. _____________________

Don't see how a land baron got a sim when people who had adult businesses for a while in SL were turned down for the swap. Seems odd.

But DID they qualify for a swap? There are very specific indicators of adult content defined in the Wiki.
Which is not to say that the system couldn't be gamed. _____________________

btw, when I checked a few minutes ago, that land was no longer up for sale. Either a Linden stopped the sale, or it's already been sold.

Know there were a couple parcels reclaimed by LL for *land abuse* for getting a swap then trying to sell it... if LL catches Zindra land for sale, they make you take it off the market or they reclaim it and your screwed Or so i hear....*smiles* ~Brie |

Yes, I have heard the part about them not allowing you to sell any of it until such time as they start the auctions for the remaining land.

Imagine, two regions completely for free, if only you put some adult stuff on your existing regions, change the name/description, and put them up for search. Theory: They knew it was coming, they had the land already, spent 30minutes on Xstreet or a freebie shop getting all the free adult fullperm crap they could find and setup one of the free prefab stores you can get anywhere, throw the adult crap in it, mark them for sale, add adult keywords, click the search box and a week later when your search results are clicking ask for a ticket... Linden stops by sees all the adult crap and see search results and thinks it is legit and accepts the ticket... If it can be gamed it will be gamed and LL is all for games it seems... ![]() |

Not entirely germane, but: I did swap my Zindra parcel with another Zindra landholder's parcels a couple days ago, and we did it by selling the land to each other. Obviously we set it for sale to an individual, not just anybody, so it wouldn't have turned yellow and I doubt it attracted any attention.
The swap was no net cost to either party, of almost exactly the same area. We could have gotten LL involved in the process (and that might have been safer, lest anybody decide one or the other of us was violating the rules), but we figured if we wanted it done we should just do it ourselves. _____________________

Thats the best way. If all else fails, create a group just the two of you and jointly hold both parcels with 1/2 tier donated each ~Brie |

btw, when I checked a few minutes ago, that land was no longer up for sale. Either a Linden stopped the sale, or it's already been sold. It's no longer set for sale, but it still promotes itself as being for sale in the Name and Description. Seems it was claimed on 3 August - whether from LL, or from the seller referred to by the OP. |
