Is it possible in any way at all to inspect somebody elses clothing like you can with prim attachments using "Inspect.." from the pie menu to find out creator and owner names?

Thanks

Nope, but you can certainly ask them. I find most people are friendly enough to let you know where they got their outfit.

Has that changed, Keira? Because I know you could before- I have done it.

I just did it right now - I am in Bits and Bobs- and clicked on a girls miniskirt next to me. Pie menu, more, inspect- i know her name as the owner and the creator's name as well- i did take a screen shot- but of course it would show the names- i will try and cover the names so you can see it. This is the "Second Life 1.22.2 (104576) Dec 2 2008 12:04:44 (Second Life Release"

Here you go:

It's the skirt the girl you can see to the right is wearing.

I always thought you could also. Could click on the item, and get the creator information. I've done it many times. I'm using an older version, however, don't recall which one off-hand.

I don't recall ever being able to.

You can right click > Inspect an av, but I've never had it show anything at all when this is done. Prim items work as they should, but I've never had an av inspect show their non-prim clothes.

If you do, perhaps this is a glitch that needs to be reported!

OP said 'Like you can with a prim attachment' (Paraphrased), so I assume they mean non-prim clothing.

I've never been able to do it for system clothing, no matter what client version I had. Now, if it's in your own inventory you can probably look at properties there, but that doesn't help much!

You are clicking on an attached prim. The OP is asking if it's possible to inspect a clothes layer, which is not possible.

You can only inspect the PRIM part of their clothing that is an attachment such as a skirt, shoes, bottom of a flexi jacket, or sleeves on a sweater. You can not inspect shirts, jackets, undershirts, pants, socks, or any other clothing layer an avatar may be wearing.
