If you are using a prim attachment title thingy...

After you've typed in your title, remove to inventory and then wear it again. Worth a try.

Or rez it to the ground, set the title and take back to inventory before wearing it again.

One of those will make the title stick.

Yes, that is where it is in your inventory but for you to use it you are also Wearing it on your Avatar... it should have beside it's name in your inventory .. WORN
Right Click it in Inventory and choose DETACH... then Right click again and choose WEAR. The previous poster suggested that might cause it to save your title.

If that does not work, the I suggest you contact the Creator or the person from who you purchased the Titler. There are literally dozens of Titlers floating around SL and they work differently. To find the Creator of your specific Titler, again.. Right Click the Titler in your Inventory and choose Properties. You should see the name of an Avatar beside the word CREATOR:

Hope this has helped.

Really? So many of his questions seem designed specifically to push buttons... and his name just screams "alt".

Why would asking about a Titler push anyone's buttons? Or another question I remember him asking - about why his 'page up' would not make him fly higher?

I want to give a piece of unsolicited advise just so if he is still around a year or so down the line he can't say - duh! I didn't think of that- twinkboy is an odd choice for a name- even if you chose it for a great reason and you like it enough to keep it- make an alt now with a more thought out name- and for Pete's sake- there is a cap key for a reason. You will find after u have been in-world awhile that not having capped ur name might possibly act against u depending what venues u choose. So- by all means, conquer the grid as twinkboy if u must, but a reserve alt with a perhaps more serious name might be a good idea down the line.

Having said that- you really should go find some Mentors or organizations in-world to help you out newdom because you have so many questions- some of which people don't even encounter for months and months (been here two years, used a titler about six months ago for the first time). I mean we are happy to answer things and help out, but ur questions may be out of the scope of folks not in the "profession" of Newb Helper, like the Mentors and other volunteers in such groups. You might just get more complete answers from people that do that every day.

Good luck and taking my own advise will go back to minding my own business..

Just a note here, but slaves and submissives don't capitalize their first names online. The caps lock, alas, is reserved for Masters.

As for a more serious name, yeah sure, and while we're at it, all you child avatars grow up and all you animal characters put on some human skins and all you demons take off the damn horns, ok? Let's get SERIOUS about our online playgrounds! For crying out loud, what do you think this is, a game???

Daros- since this person is new to SL -supposedly- it is very likely he is not aware of the naming conventions regarding slaves and Masters. Therefore, if he chose a lower case name by mistake he has made a poor choice- if it is by choice to denote his status then so be it, but he shd be warned. I just didn't think I needed to spell it out, hence the reference to venue.

As for serious- well, he could be a seriously fun loving giant twinky.

Masters and slaves don't exist only in SL, Amara. The naming conventions are the same in RL and other online arenas as they are here.

Edit: Don't confuse this:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twinkie

With this:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twink_(gay_slang)

The first *would* be a silly name. The second, not so much.

Skell dear.. I know a lot more about this (the naming conventions) then you might think- it is not new to me either. However, you woudl be surprised at the number of people that have no clue and find themselves "trapped" in a preconceived identity because no one thought to mention it.

And the Twinky/Twink thing was totally new to me. Learn something new everyday!

Daros.. Arizona.. hmmm.... ;)

it could also be a programming decision by the creator of the titler. if it resets "on_rez".. then every time you relog to SL, would be considered a "new rez".. and might be why it's resetting.

Or, as has been suggested before, it might just not be "saving" the state.. especially if you're CRASHING and relogging. Try the idea of setting your title, then detaching the titler and reattaching it. If it saves, then you've solved the problem.

Well, my name is all lower case because I made a typo on sign-up. I occasionally wish I had used an upper-case S, but it has never ever caused me a problem. I think "twinkboy" is a lovely name for a young, attractive, gay man. If that was not the intended impression, then yes, it could cause problems in terms of misunderstanding and/or anti-gay griefing.

Also, I think RA is a perfectly appropriate place for newbies to ask questions. I think it's quite refreshing to see some genuine questions to which we can respond with genuine answers. Twinkboy, I'm glad you got your titler sorted out :)

Mmmmm no. How in the world would he know that? From board posts? Language is volatile in text, and tone cannot be inflected in print in the way you say you meant to inflect it. It's going to sound like this:

"Skell... DEAR... I know etc.."

I knew that class would come in handy one day!

Well I do apologize if it came off that way- Skell and I have spoken a few times in cartel chat and have posted more than just a little back in forth in the sales thread. Anyway- it was not meant in a condescending or patronizing fashion and I do apologize for giving that impression.
