Does anyone have any evidence, or can point to any evidence as a result of independent research not involving the drug companies directly or indirectly that vaccines work?

From: Debra Himmel But can you point us all to research that shows that these millions were saved by the vaccines? How about the fact where these vaccines were used and still used these illnesses have been eradicated. Countries where they cannot be afford them are still losing people, but not those helping who have been inoculated. Do you really think there is no proof? Do you think drug companies just make these that do nothing and sell to the governments worldwide? You could always test it yourself by going with friends to an area with say malaria or smallpox and only half of you have the vaccines if you don't believe they work.

As mentioned above, there is overwhelming and indisputable evidence that vaccines work, like the eradication of smallpox and polio.
Perhaps if a more sensible original question would have been: "Do all vaccines work for everybody?"

Just in case anybody reads this thread without knowing the background, there's an ongoing charlie foxtrot of a thread, , where the OP of this thread has been making some unconventional medical claims, more than a few of which are life-threatening. There is plenty of evidence that vaccines work, of course. Any credible source of that evidence will be discredited by the OP as being on the take from big pharma... ... or accused of promoting genocide, as she did me, for describing the tragically delayed efforts to eradicate polio.

Although it's obvious that vacines are generally very effective, I do think there's some truth in the link between flu and vitamin D. If so, then it's probably a good idea from the flu point of view to get a reasonable amount of exposure to sunlight, although one has to be aware that in itself carries risks too. But it's not an alternative to vaccination.

Of course they work! From: Treasure Ballinger I, ashamedly admit, I did do the garlic necklace thing. Since then, I've not been bothered by bite requests. I know I'm now in the 'garlic necklace database' but it's worth it to me, to have my avatar in there, to keep my SL spampire free. (this was a question about SL, wasn't it?)

Good grief!
What amazes me is that one or two people actually stuck up for this person (Debra) in her other thread.

I don't necessarily agree with her, but I respect her because she doesn't fly off the handle when people don't agree. I don't think she's had a chance to really read through the original thread to really fully understand what we've been dealing with; but even she seems to be putting some distance between herself and Debra.

You could always test it yourself by going with friends to an area with say malaria or smallpox and only half of you have the vaccines if you don't believe they work. No the problem is that if I say they don't prevent whatever they claim, I am jumped on and told to provide proof by way of scientific research that has been done. So I in return expect to see some independent scientific research to the same standards that the vaccines do work. After all, it's my tax money that is being used to pay the drug companies.

Well she now has 2 more threads - very short at this stage - to see what lies in Debra's brain. Debra is still smarting and is on a mission to show herself up even more, if that's possible.

Oh honey, you do know you don't have to pay income tax unless you live in DC, don't you? Yes, apparently it's not obligatory, unless you slip up and pay one year, then I believe they can say that you agreed to pay every year, or something. There was a thread somewhere.........................
