I am going for a certain look. Is it possible to wear a shirt tied around your waist? Like in this picture:

To get that effect you would likely need to wear the shirt as a prim attachment. A sculpted attachment would probably give the best effect, though it would be solid, and not move when you walk or sit down.

A system skirt properly textured might work too, now that I think about it.

Ooh, you are in luck. http://www.slmen.com/3203/nouveau-chez-new-at-artilleri-kumaki/

An example of a sculpted attachment to look like a sweatshirt around the waist. Not quite what you are looking for, but a good start and an idea of what is possible.

Ooh, that is perfect. I never bought from Xstreet before. Do I have to buy it using their web site or can I buy it directly in Second Life?

Many but not all Xstreet vendors will sell the same items in-world. They don't always list their store name or location, so sometimes I'll just search for the individual in-world and look for their store location either in their profile description or picks.

Some vendors either don't sell in-world, or else make it too hard to find their items. In those cases, you'll have to buy from Xstreet. Personally, I'll never do that, because I prefer to see things in-world first.

So far, you need to get an account with them and verify it inworld. Or you could look up the seller's inworld store and buy there. It often pays off to compare prices, some sellers have different prices inworld and on Xstreet.

Aside from that, I really recommend you take a look at BareRose Tokio. They have some great men's stuff, some of that in the style that fits with what you're looking for. And the best part of it, they are really, really affordable for outfits that most of the time come in at least three different colors and are highly detailed - the most I ever paid there was 170 L$, and that was worth every penny.

yea i have an outfit that has the top tied around the waist but it is a working/janitorial type jumpsuit and when you "tie it around the waist" the top part is made of sculpted prims.

So it is possible you just need to find it.
