Hello
I'm new to SL. I am looking for one to two people who would be willing to tell me how SL has helped them with a health issue. Thanks very much. Susanna Felisimo

Sorry for being a little suspicious, but discussing health issues with someone who starts her thread that way? Mari _____________________

You may want to touch bases with Pathfinder Linden. I believe he has a connection with a rehab group. They use SL as an aid in the recovery of stroke victims.
This might be their website. http://dreams.da-dev.com/shockproof/strokeinfo.php Alisha |

Who is the famous avatar that is run by a group of severely disabled people? I saw him and them on a RL newspot but for the life of me, I can't remember his or their names...
[Edit: I just found this on the CNN Second Life blog: http://secondlife.blogs.cnn.com/2008/02/18/haven-for-autistic-people-in-sl/ ] _____________________

What type of issues? Physical health? Mental health? Recovery? There are many different types of individuals and groups that are helped by SL.

I'm a bit embarrassed but it's part of my life long recovery to be honest..I don't know IF or how SL helped me..But im 2 years free and clean of Drinking and Drugs.
I've been able to replace one addiction with another. SL has allowed me to rediscover feelings..anger ..happiness, sadness etc.I see my recovery as a strength and am quite pleased to be able to tell any clients who hire me they will be getting a sober employee. Yes ,I still have social issues and fear issues and I'm sure i probably use this virtual interface as a crutch. BUT... It's better than alot of alternatives. ![]() ~Lana Tomba _____________________

Yep it helped me through a big bout of depression, when I first came into SL I thought I was a half demon half vampire BDSM escort, but now I'm a frootloop roboroo overlord, all better

I am homebound and chronically ill. SL has helped me with many things but I am not interested in being some one's pet project nor part of virtual reality tell all.
I have enough volunteers to pester and I have closed up shop for the tell all of FD Spark's life. ![]() _____________________
