HI
I have no idea if posting this here is correct or not. It started out as simple task, i bought a pair of boots and needed to make the upper parts fit my lower leg. I looked for some kind of help, now hours later i find myself here in desperation. Links fail to work, notecards from Mentors are ambiguous, and all i want to do is in effect find out how to make things fit me properly. It cant be rocket science, so if any kind soul can point me to how i can learn to do this for myself, i will be forever gratefull, amd my clothes may actually fit too.
Sorry if i have invaded a forum with this, but i am really desperate for help.

I'm not very good at explaining how to edit objects, but here's a link to a video explaining shoe adjustment.

Also, check out other videos here.

Here's another suggestion. Go to the Ivory Tower of Prims and go through the first few lessons - not the entire set. Specifically, the lessons on changing the size, position, and rotation

I think it will be easier to learn how to edit prims if you start with objects that are not attached to you.

And if the boots are copy make a quick back up copy before you mess with them. :) And they must be mod in order to edit them.

A good thing to try when looking for information on how to use Second Life is to use Google.

For example, putting "second life adjust shoes" (without the quotes) into Google produces a page from an old version of SL help as the first link, and the Torley Linden YouTube video mentioned above on editing attachments as the second link.

Adjusting Knee Angle
05-31-2008 20:57
Another idea to try before editing the boots themselves is to check your "Knee Angle" setting in the Edit - Appearance menu.

I purchased a pair of boots awhile back and the top part didn't fit right *and* they were no mod. After contacting the designer, who sent another set of the top parts to me that were mod, and fooling with them awhile, my partner asked what my knee angle setting was. I hadn't looked at that setting since beginning SL a year ago.

When I adjusted that down (I think it was at 80 and I went to 50), the original boots fit perfectly without needing any editing. :o

It's the one that makes you knock-kneed or bowlegged.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.
