okay...this is my last resort...I've tried fiddling with my graphics settings and I have no idea what is causing this or even how to begin to fix it. All I know is that ever since the required upgrade half the time when I move all of a sudden my prims go wacko and do this

If you have an ATI video card, try turning off Vertex Buffer Objects.

If you have an ATI video card, try turning off Vertex Buffer Objects. And how might I do that? |

The 1.20 Release Candidate is not a mandatory release...1.19.1.4 and 1.19.0.5 are. If you were using the last Windlight RC before it went to main viewer status, you WILL get the required update message, but you can just uninstall 1.20 and download 1.19.1.4 from the website.

Thank you, I should have made myself more clear, I upgraded with the required update to 1.19.1.4 and then in my attempt to fix the problem, upgrated to the beta 1.20 which didn't help a god damn bit |

And how might I do that? It's in you graphics preferences in SL. Edit -> Preferences -> Graphics tab -> Hardware Options -> uncheck Enable OpenGL Vertex Buffer Objects Before you do that, though, update your driver for your video card. That might solve the problem right there (along with lots of other problems). If, after updating, you're still seeing those triangles, then turn off VBO's. Thank you, I should have made myself more clear, I upgraded with the required update to 1.19.1.4 and then in my attempt to fix the problem, upgrated to the beta 1.20 which didn't help a god damn bit 1.19.1 and 1.20 are the same as far as this particular subject goes. The problem is on ATI's end. There's nothing LL can do about it except work with ATI to try to get them to address it, which they're doing as best they can. If you want an immediate fix, buy an nVidia card. _____________________

Ah, OK. Well, if you' don't mind a non-Windlight viewer, the links for 1.19.0.5 are still available in this blog post:
