Music?

OK - I am sure this is asked a million times and I thought I had the right idea...but trying to change the music on my land - I went to About land -pasted in a URL that I found in here on a search and went to listen...nothing...what am I doing wrong? What step did i miss?

I've plugged a music URL into my land audio and not hit 'enter' and had it not work right, so make sure you actually hit the enter key before closing the window. Also, try other stream URLs, I've found lots of dead ones. If you are sure the stream is good (i.e. you can play it in winamp or other media players), then I'd recheck the obvious stuff, like the music volume in the sound settings. More than once I fussed over why an audio stream wasn't working and I had music volume all the way down in the master settings.

Sometimes a station is no longer current. Try several URLs. Also, I experience a bit of lag after pasting the URL. It has taken me up to ten minutes to hear the music. Of course, make sure you press play on your little music icon.

and make sure your music volume is turned up... I've done that before, LOL and DOH what a tard.

Ok - so I took a url from one listed somewhere in here from a few weeks ago. Pasted it - hit return....and nothing. So - ok- if it could be just lag let try that now. Tehn I really am not doing it wrong - or massively wrong.... we'll see - and if anyone can suggest appropriate music- it is for my new slow dance no 6. I love that!

OK- it must have been a bad url before because i kind soul donated a fresh one and it worked great. Good music! But - I still need a soft alternative for slow dance.

I've got an entire list of SL radio stations I can pass on to you. Some of the URL's may not work (some don't on my land) but many are good. Also...having a radio is a great way to make station changing easier on your land. I've got one in each house and I love it..... If you'd like to do that and need some help setting up... give me a buzz in world.

Also make sure there is no space in front of the first letter in the URL.

Thanks Milla - I would love to know about the radio - saw one recently - but didn't know what to do or how they woked.

We have The Internet Radio (can put that into search and it will show up) at home and love it! It can scan for music genre, artist, songs, key words, etc. as well as having the ability to load presets for favorite stations. It has now become one of our SL "must haves."

I will look for that too - I was just writing a friend who has shared music with me - how much I love the different things that SL exposes me to - the music in particular has been a great stretch to my horizons .
