I'm not sure how this happened. My XStreet Magic Box gave a couple of failures and someone else in my rental group noticed his store had disappeared. When I logged in and went to check my newly rented store (Rented Tuesday night late on the East Coast), I found that my logo sign, my instruction sign, my two sixteen item multivendors, my two benches, and my two potted plants had all vanished. In addition, the rental box that says how many days I have left is missing and all the Hippo rental boxes in all the neighboring stores which are vacant are also missing. What could be going on? I can't go in world now but I can try again in a while. Do I chalk this up to a "bad connection?" The vendors become no copy once modified so I lost two days of very hard work putting them together. The other stuff was pretty much junk. I'm glad I'm on a month to month lease.

It sounds like your landlord has some 'splainin' to do.

I don't think this one is the landlord's fault because all the rental boxes are gone and he left my wallpaper panels and the items are not in my inventory. If he booted me out for some unkown reason and without notice, I'd have my items back in the lost and found and they weren't there.

They would be in a coallesced object, which you might not recognise.
But, since the rental boxes are gone, it sounds like either the landlord has done it for whatever reason or it's some bug or other. If all the rental boxes were put out recently, it could even be a sim rollback. _____________________

Could be that the landlord didn't have the group rezzing permissions set right, and everything got auto-returned.

Well, I think it may be intentional. I lost 600L in the deal and my wounded pride. The coalesced object was easy to sort out. I still have rezzing rights. In fact the whole area where the mall once stood is a huge sandbox and a prefab city covers the other half of the island. Yes, the entire mall, the two story glassed in part, the retail wagons, and the four big bays, one of which I rented are all gone. All that was left were my wall panels which the landlord forgot. Oh by the way, I did an about land and found that the island is a homestead region. Yup.... a homestead with a mall.
I decided that the landlord at least owed me a note. 600L is not worth a trip to Small Claims Court, so since my rent was paid I decided to clean up the mess and erect a structure. This really is much nicer than the box I was renting before. No one has told me my lease is broken. Though how I'll pay rent next month or if I'll pay rent there next month is an open question. Anyway, things look much better, though how long they'll stay better is any one's business. http://tacheiru.us/souk/comeandgetme1.png http://tacheiru.us/souk/comeandgetme2.png http://tacheiru.us/souk/comeandgetme3.png http://tacheiru.us/souk/comeandgetme4.png http://tacheiru.us/souk/comeandgetme5.png http://tacheiru.us/souk/comeandgetme6.png I hope these pictures do it justice. It really is a very nice kind of store, while it lasts. |

Some time on Saturday, Sorry Excuse (I can't name and shame so this is a pseudonym folks), and his cronies who are also sorry excuses in their own right, wiped the sim and left it all flat and green. They advertised it as high traffic commercial land.
I did an About Land which I should have done before I rented, but I figured any one who built a mall knew the kind of land they needed. The land which held the mall, the club, my store, and all the rest was a Homestead sim. Saturday night, I heard from Sorry Excuse that he was moving the sim and that all the renters could come back as soon as the dust settled. The new build is an urban style prefab. It's cute until you try to move into it. Also, Sorry Excuse, has raised the rents. I had a spacious 200 square meter bay that held 50 prims for 150L/week. He wants 300L for a far more cramped 50 prim spot now. I dont' know if he's going to let me return. It's his problem. I also did an about land on the new place and the new sim is ...... Homestead. OK, I was dumb enough to rent from Sorry Excuse in the first place. I deserve to be out the money. My kiosk now resides on my land. I had to put my house in inventory and rearrange everything. I find that sad though the store looks nice. And pretty new shopping malls with their pretty little rental boxes no longer look very pretty to me. |

You are far better off on your own land evenif you find your self living under a bridge
![]() Your land you can advertise - his land you were under his rule- or as u have seen, mis-rule. Mall are good for some folks - but hands down - if you can own the land as far as advertisng goes you are much better off. dont despair and take a look at the Advise on Sales thread for advert tips. Good luck! What do you sell and how about a slurl? ![]() _____________________

I want to open a small store,i own (rent) a homestead but i want to keep it private,so i went land hunting,
I have the free 512m with the premium account but it is pretty small and not a lot of prims,so i decided to buy a piece of 1024m land,it will cost me $5 US a month but it is mine and i don't have to put up with landlords doing what happened to you. |

i had a nice mall once, and i was very careful to cater to my tenants - and MOST of them stayed for well over the year and a half that i actually had it. they wouldn't have stayed if they weren't making some sort of profit or other positive gimme. not everyone is a Sorry Excuse, and malls do have a place, as long as you realize they are more intended for advertising and marketing purposes, rather than sales (although those are nice too).

Will said never again and purchased a sim. So there is not middleman and we are very happy. I know there are some wonderful estate owners out there, the probably is finding them. |
