No matter which height or width I choose when I take a snapshot,
it will turn into 512 x 512 in the photo album.

Anyone know how to fix this problem?

Save to disk, edit/crop to size you want then upload. Photos and textures are forced in SL to be power-of-2 sizes like 256, 512, and 1024 pixels. It will end up the size nearest your source image size, up to the max of 1024x1024.

I do not mean to sound sarcastic but it is not a problem, it is working as intended.
You can always rescale it by pulling the bottom right corner of the display window. If you put it in a picture frame, just adjust the size of the frame to the correct aspect ratio.

Oh, if you save the snapshot to disk it will not be converted. It will have the same pixel width / height as your snapshot setting.
