Just tried to list an event on our sim but the website doesn't seem to allow listing events as the site doesn't recognize the Z co-ords. Went onto support chat and frontier Linden says its a known issue and he does not know when it will be fixed. However the events listing does not accept any events as it is not showing the Z co ords for any landmark. Just wanted to let people know and yet again hats off to LL for some great customer service........ NOT

NOT Thanks Lord for raising awareness of this issue, as it will obviously impact on a lot of people. I would say though, in LL's defence, that the ability to build above 769m is a relatively recent feature (in the history of SL development), and that event posting is a second order issue to be fixed. LL told you that it wouldn't work, so I can't see what is wrong with their customer service on this, although it might be useful if they put a statement on the events page (if they have not done so already), alerting people to the problem.

Edit: Though honestly I know frontier, he can be a jerk! My gripe with CS was the fact that nowhere is this information listed, not the wiki nor the events page at the time of posting this, maybe i should have clarified it there perhaps better. I rang Charlene on concierge chat and she confirmed this is an issue known for a while by LL and is low on the list of priorities to be fixed. My reasoning is that if it is a known issue then maybe LL should make it clear for others in the wiki, events page etc. and i agree there are far more important things to fix first but its information that should be imparted to us mere customers

And if LL put up a note in the places you suggested, then it would relieve them of 95 per cent of future enquiries on the issue - everyone wins.

Edit: Also! Update the wiki page yourself! It's fun.

I have regular events at my place that are at 2001 metres and in the events listings. I found a workaround. It's a bit of a kludge but here goes:
1) Build your venue waaaaaay up in the sky.
2) Get your events lined up and ready to put in the events listings.
3) Set your default landing point at ground level on your land parcel.
4) Enter your events in the events listings.
5) Change your default landing point to whatever altitude you need. In my case it's 104, 16, 2001.
6) Sit back and watch as people arrive at your sky-high landing point.
7) Wash, rinse and repeat steps 2 through 6 as needed. I put my listings in 1 month at a time.
Works for me and should work for you.

I did notice this myself, as well as if you use a TPer that uses landmarks placing one into the TP station results in landing way off, however a direct LM from inventory you can get there.... But I do have one question, what is the benifit of having a venue that high?

Higher allows more space & less noise below

Height does have some bugs right now ... work-arounds can offer more land for commercial or even limited residential usage. I have worked at many clubs @ 800+ meters with little problems in posting venues. Biggest problem in posting for myself have been SL.com event page bugs and/or recent restarts, and poor grid-wide outages ... Love the post on 'moving' the landing spot directing after posting, great imagination

Great workaround and better than the solution I had come up with (which was a landing platform at 500M with a TP pad up to the event)
