Hello,

Avatars have their names floating above their heads (for obvious reasons). Some also have extra information just above the name, usually a group name I think ??

Some have even more information in various colours floating on or above the avatar.

In busy places this can get very messy & confusing. Can I turn off the extra information in preferences ? (I cant find anything obvious).

Also, how do I go about adding an extra label to myself? If I want to add 'Please give me all your money' (smiles) above my name how do I do it ??

THanks as always

IN your preferences there is an option to hide ur name and others or to show temp or always. Same for group- as for how to get the hovering text- I believe there is a free one at the hangout with instructions easy enough even for me- I used it over a year ago so sorry for the not so clear explanation- I am sure someone will be along presently that actually knows what I am attempting to talk about.

What Amaranthim said. Specifically:

You can choose not to see Group Titles and/or names. Look in Preferences.

If you hide your own name, it only hides it from *your* view. Other people can still see it.

Some people use an attachment to add extra floating text. You can't choose to hide this text.

As well as getting a titler to add messages above your name, you can start your own group (L$100) and give yourself custom group titles.

I only activate groups when I need to. Most of the time I'm set to 'none'. I also hide my group title and have avatar names set to 'show temporarily'.

This does mean that when I go to clubs I often get given their group invite to join.
I have to decline and explain I already belong.. but, hey, that's conversation, isn't it, and that's good!! Beats XXX spanks yyy's butt HHHOOOWWWLLLSS!!!
