I know all the basics I think, but here's my problem, when using the top body template, how do you make a tattoo on just one arm. I put the tat on the arm and it appears on both arms. Is there a way to just make it on one arm?

You very well might get an answer here, but you might want to post this in the "texture tips forum". I think you might get a better answer.

I don't think you can, I'm sure I've read somewhere that it's mirrored. However the texturing forum will almost certainly come up with the correct answer.

So far as I'm aware there is no sneaky way to make a one arm tattoo.
I suppose you could make a shirt with a skin texture on one arm and a clear texture on the other and thus cover one tattoo. If you can make skin textures. _____________________

there is only one arm for the template............and it's mirrored for the other arm. Not possilbe to get a different texture on each arm.

If you can make skin textures. that still would not work, as skins use the same templates as clothing, thus, one arm which is mirrored never seen a prim tattoo yet, so not sure how good they might be _____________________

Prim tattoos are very difficult since when you attach them they do not move with the body, so as the body moves at times the tattoo will appear as if it is floating above the skin unfortunately

This may help!!
1. Make your tattoo and bring it into SL and then go into your 'editing appearance'. 2. Select 'undershirt' and if asked select create new. 3. Click onto the 'Fabric' window and load your tattoo texture here. 4. Save the new item by clicking onto 'Save As' and type the name. This woks very well for most. Good Luck! |

Another option is sometimes to contact the skin maker and have them add it for you to the base skins

Neither of those last 2 solutions will allow you to end up with a tattoo only on *one* arm though.

Yes they are, the layer is not relevant as the texture template can be used for any layer. You only get one arm in the texture template. As you can tell, I haven't made a shirt in a while. Years. The few things I have done have been T-Shirts, by adding lettering to one in the library. How about pants? _____________________

yeah everything be it a shirt, jacket or undershirt, gets mirrored for the arm
we have one arm, one hand, one foot and two legs one eye if you make an actual eye color, (not the same template) _____________________
