Cant get to the Bar

Ok this would be funny if it wasn’t such a pain in the arse for me.

My Avatar gets to walk off into the next sim in mid air until he crashes EVERYTIME I try to get near the bar at mine and my partners romantic dance place Cloud Nine. It is the strangest thing and I am out of ideas as to how to fix it so I have come to the wise people of the forums for help.

Ok it started a bit less than two days ago after the big SL downtime. At this time I was also mucking about with some group inviter scripts. I can’t pin it down as to the exact time it started but here is what I have looked at to fix it. Would love any other ideas please.

Eliminated PC as it only happens with only Fluffy AVI not alt, rebooted, cleared cache etc etc. it has also not been reported or seen her with any other AVI.(we get hundreds a day)
Eliminated Version of software as happens with both old version and weatherlight version
Eliminated land permissions as it only happens on Part of a parcel as the rest is Ok and even happens on the next parcel where they join as it is close to bar (also owned by partner)
Eliminated currently running scripted objects on parcel that my be hostile. Only my partner and myself can rez on land and there are no objects owned by others on either parcel. The group inviter mat and a few other items were returned to INV but no change there. Most of the scripted items have been there for ages and can’t be edited by anybody but me or my partner. We have had a few friends and a mentor scan area for possible script problems but they can’t find any.
Eliminated other Avi (including partner) as the cause of the problem as it happens no matter who is or is not around at time.
Eliminated all attachments as possible cause by bumping them all off and it still happens.
Eliminated the route taken to get to place. I can come from any direction including above and below and it still happens.
Eliminated the same spot on the land at ground level. I can walk on these spots on the land but just not at the cloud level.
The place it happens was the landing point for the place so when moved that to eliminate it as a possible cause (clutching at straws here I know).

Ok that’s about it, I know there are a few other things I have tried that I probably forgot to list but please put you thinking caps on and help me get back to the bar (where I belong). Oh btw the area that sends me off seems to be getting bigger as there some places I cant go now that I could when I was first testing this problem.

I think it will have to do with me stuffing ip puting the group inviter script in but it has been taken away and should not be doing anything now. Also we dont own the whole sim so cant request a restart (as we know it). I have reported this as a bug but dont hold out much hope as to getting a fix as its just my little Avitar effected.

Is the bar close to the sim border?

As I understand it, there is a 10m buffer where one sim reads info from another sim - perhaps your AV is getting picked up by the other sim, and it's somehow over-riding the sim you're currently in and taking you on your long walk into oblivion...

If the bar is close to the sim border, perhaps it's possible to move it a bit further away to see if that cures the problem?

(otherwise, you've already hit on the things I would have suggested - detaching AO's, and other attachments)

Hmm. You can go anywhere else in that same sim, yes?

You mentioned the landing point up in the clouds (around 200m.) Do you have a landmark to this spot? If so, what happens if you delete this landmark? If you can walk around down on the ground on the same parcel, it's obviously not the parcel; it's that area up in the clouds.

You might try turning off your modem and router for a few minutes, and reboot your computer if you leave it on all the time.

I would have guessed it to be some weird network thing, too, except that your alt works fine--presumably through the same network.

Restating the obvious: something at the bar is forcing your client to loose connection (but not crash), when it's running as your avatar. So it's something unique to your avatar, which suggests the voodoo of clearing the cache and wiping the character's folder in Documents and Settings. Then, when that doesn't work, I'd rez a scripted chair (just anything with llSitTarget set) at the "vortex" of your own private Bermuda Triangle, and try to sit on it from a safe distance. (I'm not sure what that tells us either way, but I'm strangely curious if the avatar can't *be* there, or if it just can't *go* there.)

I have not tried wipeing the character folder so thats definatly worth a try. I will also try sitting from a safe distance. Failing that I might make a sign with the name for the Bar "Fluffy's Bermuda Triange" and wait for the next restart. The SL wife is already talking about me getting a new AVI so she can have another wedding so please help save me from this.

The bar is not near the sim boundry so thats not the problem .

As far as rebooting modem and pc, well that happens often so I ruled that out very early. (My Alt works fine so thats not it too).

I can go anywhere else in sim or in SL (as far as I know) without the problem. I have tried landing points, tp ing, landmarks and flying in all with the same result.

Is it possible that one might get some useful info from making the scripting debug chat visible?

Tools / Show Script Warning / Error Window ?

Also might try turning on the Debug Console and see if you can tell any difference between the messages you see for your main and alt accounts.

Can you try splitting the parcel up, rejoining it, etc. ?
