I have IM to email turned on, and today got a message that I'd been ejected from a club. I haven't been on today at all. When I checked my accont everything seemed fine, and the title on this forum shows the correct time I last logged on. Should I be worried about this?

I believe that the forum date only shows you the last time you visited the forms, not SL itself. I'd say change your password immediatelly. |

This happened to a friend of mine who didn't understand why he had been ejected. He then learned that the club closed and so they deleted the group. You might want to check that when you get back online. _____________________

It's very annoying that it sends out such an intimidating message when a group owner does this. (Maybe someone smarter than I am knows how to turn that message off). But I had some friends close down a club, and I got the same message, and thought the same thing at first. Don't worry, you didn't do anything. |

And why does an IM go out to every other member of the group too when you delete someone? Any way to turn this off?

Makes perfect sense that the club was closed... Thanks for your help, saved me from worrying all the way home, lol.

What makes no sense is that when you have been "ejected" from a group by its closing, you cannot remove the group from your group list - because "you cannot resign, you've been ejected". Happened to an alt.

Emails are slow at times too. I had a teleport too close to an email device which sends email if someone touches it and types a line. Sometimes, someone would touch it, but not type anything and leave, and then when I would use the teleporter, when the teleporter dropped me off, it would say "unsquishing avatar", at which point the emailer would hear it and send off the email. One day, 15 hours or so after I had used the teleporter, I got the email...

If a group from which you've been ejected (purely for admin. reasons) remains on your gropu list and you can't delete it, try this: Contact one of the officers of the group and get them to let you rejoin, then immediately leave the group.

Ejection - being deleted from a group for administrative reasons
Rejection - being ejected more than once by the same group _____________________

I think the message that a person has been ejected doesn't go to the entire group--just the officers.

I wish they'd use "removed" rather than "ejected" in the message. As it is, the message is unnecessarily harsh. Heck, maybe they should add "Your mother doesn't love you either."

Hmm, there's nothing really helpful there, but thanks for pasting. |
