I just noticed, that VAT is not included anymore in my tier fees charges and the option for entering VAT number has dissapeared from the first page.
I hope that this means that Lindens listened to the masses and stopped the illegaly charged with no notice VAT.
Now they can announce the implementation of VAT in the near future and let the european users decide what they will do.
It's something at least in the right direction. If tax has to be applied let it so be, but at least i hope Lindens will finally understand that before they do something they have to think in advance of the effect their moves will have in their residents.

I still have VAT in my account page.
And I don't think that they will come back on it. It's an european law.

It is still shown on my account for the next tier payment and I've already been charged it for my current payment which was due on Saturday (I've checked my account history and it is listed as being paid).
My main fee-paying ID has never been sent the e-mail about VAT. A non-fee-paying alt got the e-mail on Friday and I was charged VAT on Saturday so no time at all to consider selling up.

My Account shows as it did after I entered a VAT#
The tier shown in Nett of VAT and there is an option to enter (or in this case) re-enter a VAT#
The VAT# entry screen shows asterisks and the last 4 characters of the x previously entered.
Before VAT# entry, they had the wrong VAT rate used.
