the British sitcom "Only Fools and Horses?

Answer: Absolutely nothing, but we are supposed to ask SL related questions here.

Now the requirements have been met I can come to the real reason for this post, which is to let you know you can download a FREE ep of OFAH at http://www.itunes.com/radiotimes. It's one of my favs, "A Touch of Glass". If you're not sure which one that is, I have only one thing to say: chandelier. :D

I don't know if this will work for anyone outside the UK.

BTW, this ep was based on a real life incident involving writer John Sullivan's father many years earlier. The chandelier was specially commissioned by the Beeb for that episode at a cost of £6000. And you thought they were wasting our licence fee! You learn all sorts watching UK Gold.

My post makes it quite clear what the URL is for. I'm sorry you found it difficult to understand. I really don't care whether you click it or not. It's not compulsory: I put it there for those who can appreciate such things.

Thank you for your gracious response and helpful input.

Oh, wait, you asked a question: the answer is to be found in the fourth sentence of this post.

I don't know about soul, Brenda, it's certainly stolen my wallet. :)

And just to bring this solidly into this forum - I'd add that you can download SL podcasts there, and, if memory serves me correctly, Torley's vid tuts

That episode of "Only Fools and Horses" is one of the best, and the chandelier incident is repeatedly voted as one of the funniest sitcom moments of all time. They only had one take at it, for reasons that become obvious when you watch it, and the actors were under strict instructions not to laugh - which, apparently, they found to beextremely difficult, but they did manage it.

Francesca, I've seen John Sullivan being interviewed, telling where the incident came from, and his father didn't want him to do because he thought it wouldn't be funny - until he saw it :)

SL has a great deal to do with Only Fools and Horses. For those who don't know, the full phrase is, "Only Fool and Horses Work", which is just like SL. Once you've set up your shop, and it's become a success, people keep on buying stuff from youi, making money for you, and you don't have to lift a finger to keep the sales coming in. In other words, only fools and horses work in SL :D

You may want to ammend that to "Only Fools, Horses and Content Thieves work in SL".

The chandelier, Del falling through the bar, and Del and Rodney dressed as Batman and Robin: three of the funniest. There are so many of them in OFAH, but those stand out.

Phil, I saw that interview too, and now when I watch that scene, I can almost feel them trying not to laugh, LOL

Well I must be off - going to buy some Trevor Francis track suits from a mush in Shepherds Bush. LOL

Bonjour :p

I would like to apologize for my earlier post, I was under some personal stress (not that it excuses my behavior but as an explanation), was not fit company for man or beast and should not have been anywhere near the forums.

I should like to apologize too, Ralektra. My response was rather OTT.

I do hope things are better for you now.

Not wishing to derail the thread - and yes, the chandelier sketch is one of my favourite comedy moments - but I have to declare Blackadder 2 & 3 as my best ever comedy shows; I still can't decide between them.

Clips of all are on Youtube - I'm not posting links, there's far too many

I think it's fairly well derailed already. Yes, Blackadder is wonderful, but when I'm feeling down, nothing lifts my spirits like watching those two dipsticks, Del and Rodney. :)

Fans will be delighted to hear that there is a prequel to OFAH in the making . . .

Pep ( . . . and Rodney plays his own father.)

PS Please don't mention the Inbetweeners

Maybe they'll learn that Freddie the Frog (Rodney's father) left a map to the location of the gold - it's in the sea, remember?

The Blackadders are excellent (a lot of U.S. people would be quite surprised to see what House did before he became House :) ) but, for me, the best sitcom of all was 'Allo 'Allo.

With the amount of stuff she said on her deathbed, it would take up a whole series :D
