I'm not really a shopper, especially not for female clothes, but I was happily putting a "damsel in distress" in the castle and decided to dress her correctly. I went to a medieval mall sort of place where there were some nice outfits and I decided on one that I liked the best for her. So I bought it. Dammit girls! Why didn't you tell me to watch out for no transfer female clothing??? I started to IM the creator but realised that, since I couldn't return it, there was nothing she could do, so I sent the IM, saying to forget it. I had the damsel alt and me at the shop, I'd given her the money, and she was just about to buy another copy of the outfit when the creator IMed me, saying that she'd give the damsel a copy. WOW! She came over and that's exactly what she did. Of course I have a copy in my inv that I'm stuck with - unless I want to be a damsel at some stage - which will never happen. Anyway, I just wanted to post a bit of praise for the excellent customer service of this creator. She is Tayren Theas and her main store is Tayren's Fantasy Fashions.

I will bet that there are a lot of good sellers out there, but we only hear about the poor ones. I was in a certain aian sim contemplating a kimono. Someone connected to the place came by and showed me where they were and modeled one for me. Great, I thought, now I have to buy one just to be polite. Nope, she told me that she'd leave me to it and wandered off without any sales pressure. I bought the kimono. I bought the wrong colour. I IMed that same person from home to let her know what happened. Within minutes the sim owner (also the creator of the kimono) sent the correct colour to me. Nothing was ever said, or needed to be said, about whether I clicked on the wrong colour or if they had packed the wrong outfit into the vendor. When I later visited that sim to take pictures, the sim owner came by to say hello and wandered off again without needing to delve into the issue. Classy. I don't think we can name names here, but it's a very beautiful, large Asian sim that I'm sure many folks here have explored.

Heh. . .of got quite a collection of lingerie that was SUPPOSED to be gifts.
At least clothing purchases no longer default to "auto wear"

"Putting a damsel in distress in the castle"?
Is that what the kids are calling it these days?
It usually makes me happy too.

I bought my partner some lingerie just last week and before I made the purchase checked to see that it was Transfer.
This is not rocket science, people.

From: LittleMe Jewell /me wonders why you still have them. Easy. Because I'm lazy about cleaning out my inventory. And I HAVE cleaned them out. But I keep finding. . .things. Or. . .I'm hoping a glitch makes them transferrable.

It usually makes me happy too. Lol. This one really is a damsel in distress - locked high up in a tower - or she will be when I make the 'waving out of the window' animation.

My dresses are non-transferable. However, my vendors have a button at the bottom that says, "Buy as Gift." You push it and type the name of the person you want to send it to.
I occasionally have a person that for one reason or another didn't get the gifting part to work. Depending on situation (like is the person nice about asking) I'll send on a copy to the intended party.
Edit: If I bought one, thinking it was transfer, well, that depends. If it says that it's transfer, I'll assume SL error changing the perms and IM the creator/seller. If it says it's non-transfer, I just eat the cost.

Oh I love Tayren's. She has frequent sales, her prices are fair and she has freebie boxes scattered around the store.
I used to roleplay and bought a fair amount of fairy, lady knight, medieval gown, and other such outfits there... once upon a time. Lol.

You cannot name names here for the purpose of incrimination or accusation, as the moderator staff has neither the resources nor inclination to confirm or debunk any such claims, and it just becomes a massive he-said/she-said flamefest we can all live without. However, there are no prohibitions or restrictions on naming names to compliment or praise. Feel free to name away!

From: Katheryne Helendale Feel free to name away! Yes. I love hearing happy stories. I've been to Bare Rose before when June Dion herself was there, and humbly offered to model anything I was curious to see on a person. And then, she did. No pressure to buy, either. I think there is usually a good reason businesses prosper for a long time, in the virtual or real world.

Kiku Yokosuka is another very nice creator; she sent me extra layers for this outfit to me immediately after I IMed and was very polite. Though her partner is another story, rather impolite and took like a day to answer an IM and notecard even though he was online; then took -another- day to answer my IM since the first one wasn't resolved. From: Melita Magic Yes. I love hearing happy stories.

I had a good customer service experience recently. The SL inventory Bug ate my favourite pair of jeans, and I was pretty certain I'd bought them from a particular store, and I went back to buy them again. But when I got there I couldn't find them. So I IM'd the maker, sent him a pic and asked him if they were his and if so, how could I buy a pair. About an hour later, a replacement pair arrived in my inventory, and he said they were old ones he'd discontinued and was intending to put out an improved version. I paid him L$200 for them and he paid me right back and insisted no charge.
The store was Jungle Wear and the creator is Lion Valentino. Big thumbs up from me.

I had this same thing happen when buying gifts for chicks. I had one creator give me a transfer copy right away, and another who didn't answer. Nowadays I'm more careful if perms aren't advertised (which usually means no transfer, I've discovered, and that seems to be common now on women's clothing, for some reason). Also if the shop uses fast pay buttons it seems to be impossible to know what the perms are (or even what you are buying for sure, for that matter ) before you hit pay.
