When the grid was dodgy, I used to get that questionnaire when I logged in. I haven't seen it for ages though and the grid has certainly been behaving badly lately.

So...

As we slide into another weekend of potential mayhem..

Is your second life experience getting better or worse?

Would you recommend it to anyone (apart from those you hate)?

Is this really what you wanted when you said predictable?

eta.. ok this is the first poll I've ever tried to run, so if it doesn't make sense eh

Absolutely WORSE.....if it wasn't for all my SL friends, I'd log back into RL and stay there!

btw, I've got a great screen shot showing the "Unable to connect to Second Life. Despite our best efforts, something unexpected has gone wrong" message. And, behind it is a Resident Survey asking me "Is your Second Life Experience getting better or worse?"

You can trick the system, and get the poll pretty much as often as you want.

Just keep refreshing http://secondlife.com/app/login/
It's the login screen page :D The poll is actualy just a random chance, with a low probability of apearing.

I've gotten that poll a couple of times in the past few days, by the way.

Better than what? It's better now than it was 2 years ago. But worse than it was 6 weeks ago.

My experience is getting better on average, if less predictable, since someone started a thread about me.

Pep (On average: Six death threats, four invitations to dance, three partnership proposals - one from a guy who thought I was a female - and a significant number of propositions which I can not repeat here, but were mainly based on their anticipating being treated very badly indeed!)

I'm jealous. I think I have only gotten one death threat since I joined SL. A couple of propositions from noobs who thought I was 'bootifel' and wanted to make sexxies now but that's about it:(

Overall better. A few hiccups occassionally, butI haven't had anywhere near the dramas I had back in 2007 when they had the grid shut down for days at a time, no group chat, no friends list, no search and crash on every teleport.
Now we have Sculpties, better skies, voice, mono and Havok4.
It' not the predictible experience I was begging for because I never wanted a predictable experience, that would be boring.
No death threats, but I did have a blimp stolen by Neko Ninja

Worse. Definitely worse. Permanent uncertainty (instability) these days with not knowing how the adult thing will work out.

With all the dumb@ss policy changes, has undoubtedly got worst. It feels repressive....I don't feel as free....its almost like RL now. The "Your World" part of the quote has definitely eroded in time!

I will sit here patiently until a suitable alternative appears. (not Blue Mars)

In terms of stability it's better, much better, although there have been some issues creeping back in.

In terms of policies, worse, much worse, Linden Lab are interfering too much.

SL and grid stability is far far better than it was in 2007. Back then we were pretty much assured of things being screwed up EVERY weekend. And the borked grid would start with the rolling updates that LL started on Wed -- so the only really good days were usually Mon and Tue.

I guess it is all a matter of perspective - like pretty much all of life, whether SL or RL.

The place plays OK now and I've upgraded my hardware so that's OK.
The constant changes and stuff sucks.I no longer feel comfortable here. It's like I want to keep looking over my shoulder. So worse.....Bigtime.

I joined back up in August 2008, after a 2 year absence. My experience in 2008 was better than 2006. However my experience now is worse than 2008. Still better than 2006, overall, though.

When I get that question occasionally upon login, it is highly dependent on what is happening with my personal SL. Since I stayed with the same viewer over the last year or so, I don't get all the new viewer hiccups and other such external annoyances.

My experience is based on classes I may currently be taking, progress I feel I am making (or not) in my business, the occasional new place I discover...but a lot was how things were transpiring with my partner. I know...silly woman. :p

Currently, I'm in a temporary phase of grieving the loss of a 2-year online relationship (I know, I know...silly woman...again), but it has solidified some personal beliefs and hopefully helped me not make the same STUPID mistake again.

So currently, my SL experience is about a 4 on a scale of 10 and rising.

Went to an AMAZING live music performance last night!!! It was at a smaller venue so quite pleasant. The performer apparently used to play in Vegas with The Platters and another similar group...can't recall atm. He did a mixture of songs and styles that ranged from The Moody Blues to Neil Diamond - and every song he played was a fav of mine. Not having been an afficionado of live music prior...I'm now hooked...at least on this performer! ;)

My SL experience has got better since I joined in Sept 2006. There have been some setbacks and performance seems to have deteriorated a little bit recently - more lag and longer rez times, but nothing too bad.

However, I've steered clear of the 1.23 main viewer so far, so maybe I'm lucky. I have used the 1.23 Release Candidate, mainly so I could look at shadows, which are very promising - visually great, but performance-wise, not quite there yet.
