While the current FX engine is close to sims2 level I would certainly be interested in a new engine that supports more modern features, higher poly models and effects. I am not asking for the Unreal 3 engine level but the current engine does show its cracks and as time marches on only going to stick out more.
With the very low price of fairly powerful vid cards I'd be interested if LL's had this on their roadmap.

Your card can render super-duper 3D with ease, but your ISP/bandwidth can't transfer the data fast enough to be rendered in near real-time. As the world's internet "tubes" grow year-by-year, so will the quality of SL's graphics.
