I'm not sure but alot of companies will charge $1 as verification of a valid credit card and within a few minutes it's usually reimbursed, could that be it?

Does lindenlab commissioned third-party company charge this fee as verification?

I understand they send a request for $1 to verify its a real credit card. Can cause problems - my CC company got very suspicious of the $1 requests and suspended the card to protect me from fraud.

They charge you $1 and then refund it, to make sure the source is valid. This unfortunately often gets flagged as a fradulent charge by credit card companies, when a company in the UK makes a charge against someone who resids in a different country, like America or France...

I have had calls come in from my creidt acrd company, asking me to verify that I did indeed authorize a $1 purchase for "Computers and Computer Store" with a company in the UK. (I'm in America.) Turned out it was LL's UK office doing a crappy job of validating the payment info. I verified that thetime did match when I was creating payment info on my alt, and they cleared the flag on my card's account and allowed the transaction.

Sorry, LL won't let me tell you where I sell my textures and where I offer my services as a sim builder. Ask me in-world.

For a while, every single charge to my credit card got queried (but not stopped) by my credit card company. It turns out, it happened because they were getting mixed up between LINDENLAB and SECONDLIFE appearing in different places in the transaction. Once I made it clear to them they were the same thing, it was fine.

In my case, anytime I re-enter my CC details, LL sends a $1 authorization request. This is NOT the same as an actual charge. It is not something that you have to actually pay. Usually it just expires after a few weeks, and disappears from your account.

It CAN affect how much you can spend before hitting your limit, but if you are within $1 of your limit, you probably shouldn't be using that card! :)
